My neighbors house is two feet taller than mine due to the lay of the land. This was fine until they built their cement patio out to the last inch of their property. So their patio was inches from mine and substantially higher.

Isn't there a conveyancing law which states that there should be some space left between his property and the boundary? So the cement patio should not be to the last inch of their property?
