Thanks for the update!

1) So you'll be living with the GF's parents, or just with the GF?
Just the GF. She has her own house with the baby. fuck living with her mom that was a disaster

2) No more GF's on the side? Are you a one-woman man now?
nah she is on probation. im just there right now for the kid. We will see what happens, she has changed ever since the baby was here but well see if that is short-lived or not

3) And when does the PTA program start? Are you two years away from a steady income, or do you have something going now?
It starts as soon as I get my pre req's done, which is an anatomy class, physiology class, and a PTA intro class. Then during those 21 months I take the PTA program courses, along with some general ed, and 21 months later I graduate as a PTA.

Only time it looks like Ill be on here is when Im at work at 6 AM

good for you bro. spend all the time with him you can.

time spent with him > money or materialistic things

some kids grow up rich and never see their dad.. means nothing

Thanks bro. I seriously think he is the cutest fuckin baby, hes not all bug eyed and bald and shit. I got him a jordan outfit already with some jordan socks, a jordan hat. Gonna get him some boxing gloves next, and some JumpShoes after that to help his vertical. I also grab his arms when he is on his back and move them as if he is doing a bench press. His 1RM is only the air so far, but I will continue to work on him. But seriously he is the love of my life right now bro I would never want to not be with him. I have so much support as well

Hahaha. Awwww. So cute.

Don't be afraid to take hand me downs. The clothes only last a few months till they outgrow them.

Also get the child support set up now. There's no harm just getting it setup and still getting your lil man clothes or even hanging out with baby momma just to spend more time. Plus it looks better on your behalf in from of the court.

Is there any point to setting up child support if I live with the mom/child? I will still go set it up, but if I am paying rent then i dont see why I would pay both rent AND child support

It doesn't matter. Even if you didn't live with her you would be paying rent and child support. And when the reationship goes into the shitter, like it soon will. You will be stuck paying back support from teh time the baby was born. Anything you have bought for her or the baby or any money you have given her regardless of reciepts will be a gift. So if the relationship last a couple years then all the sudden she feels like it she can file for child support and now you will be garnished a little extra on top of what the percent you already have to pay. You will owe back support. Some guys I have worked with are still paying back support even though their kids are out of college.

My little brother is in your boat right now. He stays with the mom and the baby but he also pays support. Its only $50-60 per week but it comes out of his check and he won't get screwed later on with any back support nor will his federal tax refund check be taken away to pay back support. Its nothing against the mom but they are not married and its the best legal/financial precaution he can do. He still sees his boy everyday and is a full time father. He buys him clothes and toys as well.

I'm only telling you this for your own good thats all.

Thats exactly how my situation is, or will be.

I will go get court ordered CS right away. I def dont wanna get screwed. thx homie

Even if he and The mother aren't together, he doesn't owe child support if he is living with the child. So if he doesn't move in with her and the baby, but is paying rent or other things for her and the baby, yeah he should set up CS because no matter how much he gives, it can all be considered a gift. But if he lives with the mother and child, he wouldn't owe child support for that time. You don't pay CS for children that live with you, that doesn't make sense.

I guess every case is different, but a guy I'm close to just finished dealing with this. He wasn't with the mother, but lived with her and the baby for a while and the court told baby mama that he didn't owe her anything for the time he lived with them.
