of course you'll oversimplify it. dichotomous thinking is par
for the course. emotional distance / emotional abandonment.
you can abandon people without leaving. you can abandon someone
and be with them 30 years during the abandonment.
when you cheat on them, you've abandoned them and chances are
you were never there emotionally to begin with.
jon and i are buddies, but that's nothing to do with this. i've told jon
the same thing will happen to them if left unattended and even
then it might not work. i've had several associates - friends who've
gone through similar and i don't take any contest in it. the odds
are against jon and myway. i've called jon out on tons of his
bullshit through the years. being someones friend doesn't mean
cosigning their bullshit and kissing their ass. oftentimes it means
the opposite, holding them accountable and vica versa.
i know very little about the situation and what happened between you
two, but i know enough to get the picture. you will fool a lot of peeps
here and i understand the dynamics of how you'll do it. most peeps
on this board are decent good peeps....... a few are a bit misguided
but mostly populated with salt of the earth folk. the majority of
posters on C & C are veeeery smart, but intelligence doesn't help
when dealing with peeps like you. you play on emotions.
