Type O Negative.....now there is a blast from the past!! That was my jet black hair, nose-ring, Doc Marten, hanging out in deathmetal club days! LOL!

I'm a fan of Fort Minor - that song works well for my spin class.

you made it clear to EF you don't like the type of music i have on my workout playlist.:(

lol, but seriously i can't just pick 5!!!! i have a bit of everything(except that hardcore metal stuff which scares me, but i got some progressive metal in there) and i like them all!!!

Oasis - fcukin in the bushes
Eminem - Til I Collapse
Mobb Deep - Shook Ones Pt.II
Young Buck - Prepare for War
Nas - Don't Body Yourself

I can pretty much work out with any music in the background but when it comes to running certain tracks make me push far harder.

music distracts me from talking to myself at the gym. the clanging of steel and rubber suffice my needs. i also train with a couple people and we laugh and joke as well.

i actually listen to a lot of acoustic music when i'm working out lately...but these are a few of my faves when i wanna drop the hammer and walk away hurtin' afterward...

Anything hard and fast. Whenever I lift it isn't really about the song, but rather about anger. I dedicate each of my reps to something like anger, power, strength, revenge, power, conquest etc. After each set I'm so worked that if someone were to stare at me the wrong way I would eat them.

not that i care for them....but this song wants me to murder people and sell crack. great squat/deadlift song to have on repeat full blast

this song too...skip to 2:40 and you'll see what i mean

I was going to agree with everything Puddles posted, but he's mysteriously absent from this thread.

To unpussify this embarrasing thread, here's some of the more popular, radio-friendly stuff I enjoy:

I don't mind Slayer, Kreator, Pantera, Metallica, or other 80's metal, either.

No songs and hanging out at the stereo like a fucking water cooler -- put in some albums, hit play, and lift.

Sometimes no music is best.

Also, no fucking headphones. No tiny boombox. Either a large stereo/small PA system cranked up or nothing.

And stop poasing your trendy Mariah Cary Eminems Blackstreet Boys bullshit in this thread.

:cow:

Rap music normally doesn't get me in the mood to lift weights, but for some strange reason makes me want to vote republican more and more.

thanks guys keep em coming!

Java thanks for this song:

I used to be a hawk and I learned that peace is the best solution for everyone...I'm not a dove by any stretch but peace through strength does deter major wars....I have no solution for limited warfare...

all mine are army cadences

I was split option, little did I realize it would lead to me being dragged into active service via the IRR, so I went through BCT between my junior and senior year in HS. It was a popular activity for me to lead the two a day runs and wrestling conditioning. Of course I had to censor the racier stuff but it was all good.

This is probably the most used and changed cadence in Army history...

My #1 most requested in HS. I can attest this has been around since the 1980's.

Have you heard this one from Dope? It it is good for lifting. It makes me want to punch someone. ;)
