Maybe she likes it rough, you think of that?

Like That K message i read someone sent Stilleto,About her male cat, it went like this"Sometimes you feel like a nut ,sometimes you don't,Almond Joy's got nuts,Your cat don't" It was priceless!

Especially the part where he bites the back of her neck to hold her in place.

It's her you need to worry about, I bet she's in heat. You'll need to get that cat-womb taken care of too.

And Chris, we really didn't need to see that did we? I've managed to go for over 14 years without ever seeing Clyde's little red rocket.

He must be one horny kitten... they don't start actually mounting females until a year old generally, although they show interest a bit earlier.... 7-8 months. Get him snipped, most places will do it around 4-5 months unless you have a rescue/shelter cat.... then they might do it earlier... like 15+ weeks.

She is not acting in heat. No signs at all, and I have had a female feline so I know the signs.

From my understanding now that they have had potential contact I have to wait a period of time before getting her fixed. I cannot remember what the site said that I was reading, either 2 or 4 weeks.

I am calling to make appt for him on monday and hopefully they will have an opening this friday for him. Until then I am keeping her within eye sight, except for when I am sleeping. She will get fixed shortly after him. I hate felines that are in heat, they make me want to rip my hair out.

And yes this is early. My understanding was 9 months is when male cats want the sexes. He must just be exploring. He sure looked like he knew what he was doing. I had (along with my last feline that went into heat) a male kitten who would try to mount the female. He was only about 4 months old and he was all messed up and just looked funny trying. My female was older and in heat, man she would get sooooo mad that he could not do it.

lololol i think its interesting. Serves a pretty good purpose really.

I just got my first kitten (ever) 2 weeks ago. He's a rescue so we're a bit unsure his age and are biding our time to neuter him. We waited a while because we were worried about our Great Dane.... and the chance of him being a meal. :D But, it was all good.

He wouldn't be humping her if he didn't smell the pheromones that signal she's in heat. My first cat Alice went into heat when she was about four months old.

my cat did this as well at about 6 months i think. 2 weeks later the little whore was without reproductive organs.

Copy that!! wtf

How's ol' Mr. Maxx doing?

Clyde will be fifteen years old in November, and so far so good. He still seems healthy, still goes outside for his nightly murderous rampages. Doesn't bring me as many gifts anymore, but I dunno if that's any indication of how successful he is as a hunter. He's become a little more clingy in his old age, and he's starting to be a bit picky about food when he wasn't before. I keep worrying that the end is near, 'cause I've never had another pet live this long before.

not the best. First his thyroid went off the charts too high, at first it was like he was a kitten again, but then the side effects kicked in. Weight loss and then coughing a lot from fluid build up in his lungs. Argh, have to give him two pills a day now for the rest of his life. One for the thyroid, the other is a water pill. 14 in october.

and to top it all off he quit eating due to bad teeth, had no idea, on anti-biotics for two weeks. one week left..... starting to be a pain. He yacks up the anti-biotics about half hour after giving it to him... fun to clean up. End is near I fear

Aw heck. Poor little guy.

They give us years of love and amusement, not to mention keeping our homes and grain stores free from pests, then they break our hearts. That's the problem inherent in sharing our lives with creatures with short life spans compared to ours.

Well I was just patting her and what not and she did not show any signs of being in heat. She is not extra lovey, she is not rubbing her bum on anything, and she is not holding her tail upward to expose herself to a tom.

But he was just trying to climb on her again. I am going to smack myself for not pushing to get him fixed sooner. The vets say 6-9 months old to catch them as they sexually mature 9-12 months of age. From what I have seen it is rare for 4 month feline to go into heat, and also that he is not producing sperm right now. I should have pushed to have it done damned sooner.

This makes no sense to me at all. And damn it I cannot wait until friday to get him fixed, I do not want kittens!!!

sounds like he is taking after the man of the house.

He was a bottle fed kitten.... he was adopted by a man who lived in the projects. 2 weeks after he was adopted the shelter did a home inspection and found the kitten in a locked room with his brother... no food, water or litter. They took him away and the next morning I adopted him. He had to have been anywhere between 8 weeks and 11 weeks is my guess....

We've had him for 2... 2 1/2 weeks now?

This was the day we got him.... still doesn't have a name, LOL. Everyone just calls him "SHE":

Kitties are cute... but you know that thing is gonna turn into a cat one day, right?

Cats are too much like women, if you want lifelong loyalty you need one of these.

Dogs are too much like children. You have to teach them how to do everything, and they can't even go to the bathroom by themselves.

Children are even more annoying than women.

I know it was such a RELIEF getting a kitten...... I was hesitant never having one and I researched the best litter (for smells) etc... etc... I knew enough to take care of the thing (I give my animals their own shots, etc...). He pooped behind the TV twice and I freaked out... within 24 hours he was litter trained and he's such a breeze to take care of.... now house training my great dane took NINE LONG MONTHS.... we'd wake up to pee in our kitchen... oh no... not just puddles... LAKES of pee.... it was disgusting. I was going to get a puppy for the kids (the kitty is for the kids) but I am so scared of house training another animal... especially since my kids are so young.. plus having a husband... it's like a house of children ;)

Striking a cat is not the way to go. It's okay for dogs and wives, but cats won't associate it with the behavior you're trying to eliminate.

They were certainly wide open, but I dunno about googly. I took these two pictures minutes apart, on the first day Clyde The Kitten went outside to prowl on his own. It was a big wide wonderful new world for him, full of wonder and excitement (and fuzzy little things to kill and eat). So I imagine he should have looked pretty excited and amazed.

That would have been sometime in the spring, 1995.

Poor little guy.

I know I feel so mean. The lady on the phone was going over the procedure and the pre op instructions and stuff with me. I felt like crying, i am so mean.

She asked me if I wanted him in tomorrow due to having a female kitten here as well, but the van is out in the ghetto so I did not want to take him there. I also felt cruel so I wanted to put it off for a bit. He's still my little baby and I feel so bad. Was talking about it last night and said I hope that he does not change too much due to it. He is the perfect little trouble maker the way he is. I wouldn't mind kittens (I would try to keep them all), I just don't want his sex hormones to kick in and have him spray anything. It sucks.

Why did you name your cat puddles? Is it fat and bald?

Lol. No my boy is skinny, long, and lanky. Total opposite!

My cats name is not puddles for the record. It is Pudd (as in Pud/ding..His real name is Pudd Muffin. He was afraid of everything including his own shadow and was only calmed by my repetitions "It's ok boy, come on"...where we come from Pudd Muffin is the same as scardy cat/pussy/wimp. Etc

You're doing the right thing Angel. Keeps animal population down and it benefits the animals from medical conditions later in life. He won't wake up sad because his balls are missing, he really won't care. And the actual incision is only like a inch long.... if that.
