GSP Vs. BJ Pen

I would say GSP totally tooled Penn. The division is empty for GSP now. Maybe he'll be a movin' on up.

Betting by popular concensus is boring. Few of us have the skill or balls to enter an octagon ourselves so we play the fights out in our minds in an attempt to live vicariously through combatants in our imaginations.

+1
Courageous, yet not cocky, Focused... in spite of all the shit. I mean energetic, yet relaxed. Born and Trained. Yeah, dude.... I could so not do that.
The amount of focus was evident on both fighers demeanor, even while BJ was taking a beating... remained calm. Fuck man.
So much more like 'real' than boxing cause U gotta encompass so much more.
Yeah...
Anyway.
I seriously, in 2 years would not be surprised if GSP is at 205.
Dude is a phenom. Penn is Hall of fame. However... GSP has taken his combination of skill/power to another level in my book.

How bout Karate... getting a shout out tonight.
Cycles I guess...

they did lol .. all the favs won but jones .. that boy looks like he got potential and isnt boring like alot of ufc fighters..

it ok though.. its was fun and made it more enjoyable for everyone..i knew what i was getting into before i put them up, they always giveaways .. cant lose sleep ova fake money

lol i only betted on the main event cuz i didnt wanna bet any of smurfy's mil, but in my mind, I only got Parysian's and GSP's fight right....I woulda lost the other 3

You people should really listen to me when I make fight predictions...there is a reason why I bet 1 million karma on GSP

It was over by the second round. Penn's corner was imploring him to fight rather than give him advice. Man did he look discouraged. Once Penn lost his confidence, GSP was able to land at will. This fight is a good example of why I still prefer boxing to MMA... 20 minutes of ground and pound is boring as fuck.

the only thing boxing is better at than mma is the paypout...lol at calling mma boring when compared to boxing

Man, U totally reversed my thinking... I agree.

How bout Mosley. Love him....
Just don't test him for tren.

Pacman vs Hatton Who do U like?

Thread Jack... Sorry Traz.
U were right.
However, all of us were let down, with that total domination of strength, skill, will, and BJ... I think was surprised how much GSP has evolved.
His evolution of skill I think is hidden through the guise of him just looking so much more powerful. I mean in the first fight it was not that obvious.

The second. Well its a sad night in Hawaii. Here too. -midwest-
Penn remains a Phenomenal Young Man who is world class. He has no reason to hang his head. Too be confident when U sense that U are against raw power tripling yours... is well... suicidal. That he is not.

Pen is a cocky son-of-a-bitch and he was completely dominated in every aspect of the agem, striking, ground and pound, takedows - GSP must've thrown him to the mat 7 times that fight - that will keep Pen from shouting out "I'm the best" like an arrogant prick for a couple of months.

It wont shut him up. Penn's camp is claiming that GSP was greased up with vaseline during the fight. They will probably formally protest the win.

isn't there any good 145'ers and 155'ers for Bj to fight? I didn't see the fight, how did he look at 170?.....like last time, soft?

He was soft at 170. He was actually under the weight limit too. Penn looked pretty sluggish from the get go. It seems moving up in weight isn't his calling.

There are a wealth of fighters beneath 170 that would make good fights for him, unfortunately most of them are in Japan. Shinya Aoki, Joachim Hansen, JZ Cavalcante, Tatsuya Kawajiri, Eddie Alvarez, and Kid Yammamoto come to mind. In America there is Uriah Faber, Gilbert Melendez, Josh Thompson, and Mitsuhiro Ishida outside the UFC. He still has Kenny Florian to deal with in the UFC lightweight class. Give Tyson Griffin some time to develop and I think Griffin and Penn will make a good fight.
