I have a really nice office w/window now - feels kinda weird.

hmm, you're ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE ;-)

Many progressive co's are changing this form of office set up. Managers/Directors and just your reg everyday shlepps are all being treated equally. No one gets a better parking spot, or office or special treatment because everyone is just an an employee whether you have a better postion or not. This is actually how they do it at Google.

p.s, this thread makes me realize how much I don't miss office work

bah. it does have its place because in my role, i often have to meet with people in a private setting and sitting in a cube doesnt really suffice for that.
but yeah, i dont think anyone else has an issue with me having this office, i dont act like im above anyone regardless of my title or my office. its really just my own self-conscious nature at work here.

you certainly do not have the character that acts above anyone else........but you're part of the few.

I have an office and others sit in cubes where I work and there is a ton of resentment, I meet with suppliers all day and need privacy also, but I can sit with the others and meet suppliers in the boardroom.
Resentment in the work place needs to be limited to hating bosses and the skinny bithces ;-)

i felt a little of the same as I started to gain seniority. I am in the same boat, I have a nice corner office, my staff is in cubes! Its weird how people start kissing your ass as you gain some power too. Makes me uncomfortable.
