I have a really nice office w/window now - feels kinda weird.

Has anyone else ever felt this way? They moved me into this nice office with cherry wood furniture, big ol window, huge ass floor plant in the corner. bookcases. Meanwhile, everyone who works for me is outside my office sitting in cubicles.

This gives me a weird sense of embarrassment for some reason. Almost as if I feel guilty for having this office. Like i dont deserve it.

Last thing I want is for people to think I have a superiority complex or something. So when people come into my new office and make comments about how nice it is etc, I get uncomfortable. I dont want them to think that i think I'm above them. Mostly because I despise pretentious people. So I dont want to be perceived as one.

Am i just a freakin weirdo? Does what I'm saying even make sense?

make them feel comfortable in your office and feel that you are equals. if someone feels as though their boss 'thinks' they are above them, it gives them a bad taste in their mouth. On the flip side, if they feel as an equal it creates a more comfortable atmosphere.
