Putting children on leashes

So I took the wife to the zoo today to see the Zebras and such when I made an observation:

Putting leashes on your kids is fucking stupid.

Maybe Im old fashioned, but what happened to holding the childs hand? Carrying the kid? Renting one of those radio flyer fuckin wagons they give out for a buck? Letting them walk right in front of you while keeping a close eye on them? If your argument to that is that its hard with multiple kids, well my response is that youre probably either a messican teenage or a lowlife if you have three or four kids who are all at the age that they would "need" a leash in the first place. Unless of course you had triplets or some similar situation.

To be fair, the majority of people I saw doing this were whitey trashes and messicans (all the kids were obese, too). Didnt see a single blaque guilty of this...they were more for the hand holding or letting your kids run around wildly and punching people in the back of the knee. Saw a few asians, but no indians and/or middle easterners. All of their kids were very well behaved. And they all had glasses.

Anyway, making the leash attach to some sort of animal backpack the kid wears (the backpack being a monkey and the tail being the leash) isnt kosher either.

You would never see my kids on leashes.

I got to pet the stingrays today, too.

When I was 5, my aunt and uncle took me to Show Biz Pizza (Now chuckie cheese).....My parents wanted me to wear one of those damn leashes.......My aunt let me take it off after we got around the corner. She's still one of my favorite family members.

and to make it clear, I'm not white trash, mexican, or obese.

I almost got into a fight at Disney for saying something about that shit. The mother and father snapped at me and I flexed my anger at them and they walked away. It broke my heart to see that kid on a leash like a fucking dog.
:Chef: :tuc:

I was seriously against it all when I had my kids. Never used one on either two of my oldest children (keep in mind #1 has severe adhd and was off the wall). However I broke down and tried it on my youngest who to this day is a severe pain in the ass boy, and I was ashamed of myself. I felt like such an ass after that. I mean imagine how it feels, even though theys little they still have feelings. The stupid harness thing sat in his diaper bag and was only used when the kids wanted to play with it, other than that it stayed right there. Ands ytill to this day I don't agree with them at all.

Yeah I just hold my sons hand (or put him in a stroller as a smaller child) and told him that if he got away from me, a stranger would steal him. lol.
He's 10 and I still hold his hand in parking lots. im so paranoid about him walking in front of a moving car.

I hear ya, thats what I told my kids as well. Yeah I don't hold my 10 yr olds hand, however in a parking lot I try to walk on one side and his father on the other. Cannot trust people to pull out and actually look. I have seen so many idiots especially in big parking lots, it is ridiculous the amount idiocy that they show!
