B u r n e d A l i v e ! ! !

i've seen two or three people in this thread say "if you enjoy watching this, you're fucked up", with the implication anyone here (me most likely) actually said that. no one said that.

learn to fucking read

there are just those that understand no matter how horrible, these things occur and it's an *unfortunate* part of life.
I've watched documentaries with raw graphic footage and photos since i was young, not to mention realistic graphic movies on similar topics. Things about the horrors of war over the centuries. Personally, what gets to me more is the suffering of the families, not those already dead...with the exception of seeing children dead, that was always the worst. The suffering of the families is a real and active thing, whereas the dead are long gone.

Being empathetic doesn't mean you have to emotionally respond to every single thing

its sympathy if you dont invest your own emotions duh

Sometimes I really question how a lot of people would have managed to survive in earlier times, given the softness and sheltering of society. We are beyond fortunate to be able to "turn a blind eye" to all types of stuff.

Imagine having to hunt, kill, skin and butcher your own prey on a regular basis. Even if not, having to raise and butcher animals and still do the same thing. Living in a lack of a civilized society where conflict was extremely common. Outlaws, raiders, civil war. People were forced to be hardened back then. We have grown weak as a society in certain aspects. Living in peaceful times where other people do our bidding when it comes to the unfortunate realities of life.

...

and bro, i think i can read. don't know how seeing these people be burned like that and it not affect you blows my mind. That is sick shit, and should not happen

bro, you are comparing two major different things. Deer hunting and pouring gas on a human being and lighting him on fire are not on the same playing field, wtf man
