Christians - what is your opinion about homosexuality?

Told you guys afeedz mask shit up. Lol
You're talking about the Bible, no? It's that all made up?

If someone told you about Apollo and Zeus in today's world, you'd lock them up. Yet, a zombified Jew is okay?

Me? I believe in Superman. At least my God has heat vision.

jesus fuck pay attention!

afeedz makes up interpretations about the bible.

fuck you:supercool

Lord's name in vain. Tsk tsk.

Lol @ me being the one making up interpretations when I'm like the only one not arguing for supposedly implied meanings.

Stfu :)

first of all right, i get the newcummer right...i want him to suck my ass with jelly, most prefer syrup i prefer jelly

I am just appalled that Afeedz believes adultery is condoned by the church.

:worried:

:coffee:

I know the quote, and that's not what it really means. And even if it were, that's from Leviticus, Smurfy. The same book with all the other old testament laws that Christians did away with because of Jesus' sacrifice. Leviticus is the same book that requires God's people be kosher as well, but you see no Christians following that rule.

That's typical Christian-pick-and-choose-what-to-believe bullshit. Either Jesus and our did away with all Levitical law, or it did away with none. You can't claim both. Idiot Christians quote that. If they believed Levitical law still had to be followed, they wouldn't be eating bacon and they'd be stoning people for no reason.

Annie, you know I love you...but Jesus disagrees with you, according to the bible at least.

Matthew 5:17-20 (NIV - not my favorite version, but most like it) “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

See you in hell honey! :)

(if you believe all that)

I'm not Christian, but I think homosexuality is yucky.

But then I think eating shrimp is yucky too.

If other people wish to engage in homosexuality, it bothers me about as much as when other people eat shrimp. i.e. it's their problem, not mine. Just don't ask me to do it.

So...you're a Jew! :)

The other few verses though, are either irrelevant to the Christian (but not necessarily Jewish) anti-homosexual argument (like OT laws)...

The OT is not irrelevant to the xtian according to the Jesus of the bible.

Unfortunately, sometimes people like to ignore facts and would prefer to run with a likely purposeful, and agenda-backed mistranslation.

Yes. I quite understand what you mean here. :)

Ok, so let's get this straight.

Joe was speeding. And because Joe was speeding, he lost control of his car, hit a school and killed 30 children.

So by this passage, it's obviously acceptable to kill 30 children because the real point is that you shouldn't speed.

correct.

Just because it is in the bible, does not mean Jesus really said it.

ceo, you do realize that you have to rightly divide the word of truth when you study the bible? Matthew is one the most difficult books in the bible, and the one people usually mess up. The Bible is written to three groups of people: Jews, Gentiles, and the Church. You can never base a doctrine using just a verse in Matthew. At the time Jesus said that the OT doctrine was still in effect, even though the books are in the NT. It also has divisions and you have to put the divisions in the right place.

Let's modify our test-tube argument to accommodate your "lustful" consideration:

"Joe was speeding. And because Joe was speeding, he lost control of his car, hit a school and enthusiastically killed 30 children."

So you'd be arguing that because Joe was doing something wrong (speeding), he was given-over to enthusiastically killing 30 children. The killing 30 children part is acceptable, but the mistake is in doing it enthusiastically.

yes. again. both times.

As we know, the bible says homosexuality is a sin. Do you believe its just a choice people make to sin? Kind of like being a liar or a murderer or adulterer? Do you believe someone can be born gay? What would you do if someone in your family (son, daughter, sister, brother, etc) were gay?

Just curious. There was a similar discussion on another board and I found it quite eye opening.

What's your opinion on Pedo's?? is it a choice?? or a birth right??

just extending your question..

It's interesting to me to see Christians arguing with their fellow Christians over the meaning behind the passages in their book.

lol @ those wacky, zany christians!!!

Sorry Feedz, I don't want you to feel dumped on but i can't help but respond.

For one, this should be a matter of common sense. In Genesis 2 God puts Adam to sleep and creates Eve from his own body and brings her to Adam. Jesus confirms the divine institution of man and woman in marriage when questioned by the pharisees about divorce. And the remainder of scripture is clear in that sexual conduct outside of that boundarie is sin. Period. I have read your explanation in other's writings and entertaining as it is, that's an awfully long end run to try and get God's approval of their own desire. Same gender sex is no more or less wrong than hetero sex outside of marriage. Its the way God set it up from the beginning.

Next, your statement above missed the mark badly. Paul's comments are by way of trying to give great emphasis to just how far mankind could fall to depravity in their sin. So far did they fall that they fell into "vile affections"...Paul admonishes us to flee fornications. In 1Cor 7:2 he emphasizes God's standard again, 'let each man have his own wife and each woman her own husband.' Again, the teaching of scripture is clear. God ordained sex between a man and a woman inside the bounds of marriage. The clear message of the bible is seen from start to finish.

OT doesn't apply to christians according to Annie bro. Gotta throw that shit out. You a Jew? That's the Jewish Law. Jews only.

yes. again. both times.

I majored in hair-splitting years ago when I went through the Church of Christ system to train preachers. We used to make arguments similar to Afeedz (but typically in the other direction) all the time.

If you are willing to make context arguments and split hairs over specific words and the original translation, you can basically infer anything you want.

Funny you should bring up God creating woman from man in Genesis 2, because in Genesis 1, God created man and women together, simultaneously. So yeah, God never contradicts Himself.

That's OT anyway baby. Does not apply. Forget about it. Jews only.

lol @ god never contradicting himself...according to what's written in that man made work of fiction at least.

so is it ok to play hide the salami or knot

according to me, it is ok. i don't follow a book.

according to AFeedz, it is also ok, even though she follows a book.

according to many other christians, it is not ok, because that's what is inferred from their book (same book as AFeedz)

confused yet?

Jesus was a jew and his religion was Judism. FTR

no way he followed that OT shit! He made up his own religion brah! Christianity! Heard of it?

i think you're born with your sexual orientation...and i don't have a problem with people being who they are...unless who they are is a serial killer or some other destructive type of person/personality...but gay?? nah...what the heck do i care?? far be it from me to pass judgement on someone for something that seems so intrinsic to their being.

I agree with Annie as far as how to study the bible using dispensationalism, and I think that is where she was trying to go. I read a pamphlet on homosexuality and Christianity earlier this week using dispensationalism to justify exactly what she is talking about; she is not making shit up. I don't know about the homosexual part myself because I would have to look myself to post my opinion. I don't have an opinion. You can't just throw up verses from the gospels and the OT and expect things to make sense like that. You'd have to compare scripture to scriputure and be sure you're using the right context and make sure it's addressed to the church to apply it today.

Perfect.. we should end the discussion here.

How do you know she isn't making shit up? You just said "I don't know about the homosexual part myself"

Therefore you cannot know if she is making shit up or not.

:verygood:

I don't see how you can come to any other conclusion (infer anything you want) unless you believed and could trace back an inspired version of manuscripts that were translated into English, that never went through Rome. :)

lmfao

The point I was trying to make is that she didn't just come up with this herself, other people obviously do too...probably so people will be more tolerant? IDK. Especially down here in Missoura. I never looked into it to see if it was legit or not, I didn't think about it again until this thread.

lustful sex is the best kind :(

women have sex for two reasons

1) obligation - in a relationship. this is boyfriend sex or marriage sex

2) lustful sex - when they cheat its this kind, and also sometimes they have it with boyfriends, but not as often

u think god gives a fuck about homos or even us?

earth and everything in it, is a blink of his eye, hes moved onto bigger and better planes of existance

he made us self sufficient for a reason. he created physical biological and chemical laws for a reason, so he doesnt have to worry about that shit. homosex is just another possability out of thousands that he created

I refuse to have obligation sex.

I'm Christian and I think homosexuality is fine.

That being said, I'm pretty sure it'd be damn hard for a Christian to reasonably argue that the Bible says homosexuality is wrong. So I don't get what you mean by "we all know the bible says homosexuality is a sin."

The Old Testament calls homosexuality not just a sin but an abomination. Nothing in the new shit directly addressing it but the old shit demands the death of homosexuals...non- believers (and all those harboring non-believers)..unruly children..etc...

So the evangelicals and catholics pretty much pick and choose what they are outraged about...The pope thinks aids is horrible but condoms are worse...

i refuse to buy you groceries or that new pretty purse you wanted

I'm gonna buy my own purse and groceries and use your body as I see fit. :D

A man in a relationship with me doesn't have to go a day without it, I'm too highly sexed for that. But I do it cause I want to not cause I feel I have to.

Napoleon used to keep his dumbest Marshall (General) with him at all times. Before sending every dispatch he would write out his order and ask the Marshall to read it and tell him his exact interpretation of what he read. If the Marshall got it wrong he knew that he had to re-write the dispatch to ensure there was no misunderstanding of what he wanted done.

It's sad jesus could have learned something from a tiny french dictator...:)

this is just nonsense

irrelevant

Every christian interprets the bible to reinforce their biases...that's why no two christians can agree on anything but the divinity of jesus and the death and resurrection...

Joel Osteen proclaims jesus wants christians to be filthy rich... jesus was the homeless guy who told his disciples to forsake everything, jobs..family..children, and follow him...

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Matthew 19:21 Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark 10:21 Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Luke 12:33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Luke 18:22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 Timothy 6:19 In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.
