Your Max Bench, Dead, Squat ?

sk thats not neccessarily true though, because i happen to be 6'3 and 185 right now, and i can bench 235 for 1, no problem. Thats up from benching about 140 1 1/2 years ago. Although i feel weak when it comes to squats, max is probly about..... 250-260.

None of these numbers are unbelievable.......I am sure in some cases a little exaggerating/estimating takes place, but for the most part, why would someone lie on a discussion board, you're sitting on a computer where nobody friggin even knows who you are........and you're here for help, so why lie?? That being said, I spent 4 years in a college weightroom, with srength coaches up your ass about form, and NONE of these numbers are unreal to me, if anybody thinks these posts are totally ridiculous, they either have piss poor genetics, have no determination or drive in the gym, or have never trained ayplace but Balley's Total Fitness....or all of the above.........

That being said, my best lifts are:

Bench (435 Raw)
Squat (Box Squat 500 with a belt.....Full ATF w/ a belt 500, I've done closer to 6 parallel, but these are what I choose to use as PR's)
Deadlift (585x2 with a belt and chalk)

I'm 5'11", my weight goes between 250-270 usually, and I have a big frame.......my pics of myself on a thread here were taken with a kodak picture disk, so if anyone has a problem with my height/weight , please refer to them, but I plan on getting a digital camera, and going to the gym early some morning and getting some training pics taken on some PR attempts within the next 6 or 8 weeks, so that will take care of that.

I don't wanna make this a personal attack, but i'd love to see a video of that.

Do you bring the bar down to your chest?
Do you actually do the pushing or does the spotter do rows?

I've spotted a bunch of people since i've been training and all they do is bring it half way down and then hope that I will be able to pull it up.

Being 5'11 270lbs and benching 435 lbs is a lot more different than 6'3 185lbs and benching 235lbs.

Please don't talk about determination as I haven't ever missed a single workout since i've been lifting, berely ever cheat on my diet, and my genetics are fine (maybe not the best but they are sufficient).

As much as id love to post a video, I dont have a camera, so your gonna have to take my word for it, and yes the bar comes down to my chest, withoout any assistance from my training partner. Chest just happens to be my best bodypart, along with shoulders.

Like I said this isn't a personal attack towards anyone and if you can do it than more power to you. One thing I have learned though is that to be 6'3 means you have very long arms and, therefore, have to do more work to push the weight up ... I have seen a handfull of guys at 6'+ and 180ish who don't come close to benching 135lbs.

well the fact that you dont believe me is actually motivational, as I never saw it as something impressive so thanks:D

If i ever do get a camcorder though ill b glad to post a vid....of course by then ill probly be doing 275

How about 5'10" and 165-185 and benching 225?? and being a freshman in high school? or 198 as a senior with a 500(no gear and high as I would go)605(with gear) and 315 bench with a 550 deadlift?? did it- been there- try harder.

sk* - I don't see why the 185 lb. guy benching 235 is that hard to believe. Hell, I started training 3 months ago, I'm only 183 but I can push 225 for one without any spot at all. This is a raw lift, no equipment, some leg drive, touch and go. 225 is not really that much weight. I have pretty big quads naturally, but I squatted 225 for 5 reps the first time I ever squatted....and yes, those were atf.

Anyway, I'll be maxing again in a few weeks, I'd be happy to take a video and post it up.
