To be honest I was told that they did........they (Army or someone) kept calling my house to try and get me to join, I finally figured I'd go see what the guy had to say.....as we were on the phone setting up the meeting he asked if I was on any medication and I said just my asthma pills, then he cut me off and said that I wouldn't be able to join. I thought it was pretty odd but wasn't gonna start arguing with him about it.

when i joined the USMC in 95 there were guys with all kinds of conditions, asthma, flat feet etc etc

there wont be any draft of any kind, the military let me get out early with an honorable discharge before my second elistment was up last year. they dont need people.

I have diabetes so I have no worries. I can't be accepted into the draft even though I'm probably in better shape than 99% of the people in Armed Services.

Yup. I don't even think about my country first exactly, I think about all the men and women before me, in the past, people I have known and people I am related to, like my grandfather and uncle, who have served in our wars, and who have lost their lives in our wars. It would be a slap in all their faces if I were to not go if drafted. Me and Uncele Sam don't see eye to eye on lots of things, but I'm down to fight for him at any second.

Umm... the military won't take anyone with "real" asthma, ie. chronic bronchitis. I think you can if you haven't had symptoms since before puberty or something, but then one wouldn't be defined as having asthma, lol.
