I don't really think th draft is gonna be reinstated, I'm not actually informed on this kind of topic, but unless the entire world decides to attack the U.S. they shouldn't need us. The U.S. is known to have a badass military, and to my knowledge, the military is on full alert right now. Anyone trying anything in the near future is bound to get blown the fuck up. I've heard from reliable resources that USAEUR (US Army Europe) has serious manpower and equipment shortages for an extended military campaign. Yes, we are the most powerful military force in the world, but a small amount of troops will get exhausted, and fresh replacements are needed. The source: Reserves and National Guard (actually reserve components are routinely mobilized to support active-duty campaigns).
After these have been deployed, and more are needed to fill the slots of people who have fulfilled their tour duty, the draft may be reinstated. It is not an easy or poplar request from our government, but it if it is needed, it will be as a last resort so that the US isn't defeated by a little shit stain country (yeah I remember VietNam). I would rather be drafted and killed than know that Saddam Hussein kicked my country's ass. (Not that I can be drafted...I'm already in)

To be honest I was told that they did........they (Army or someone) kept calling my house to try and get me to join, I finally figured I'd go see what the guy had to say.....as we were on the phone setting up the meeting he asked if I was on any medication and I said just my asthma pills, then he cut me off and said that I wouldn't be able to join. I thought it was pretty odd but wasn't gonna start arguing with him about it.

The asthma thing is true though. I have asthma and before I graduated i was talking to the Marine Corps and the Navy. When they found out I had asthma they wouldn't talk to me anymore. I will however be glad to go defend this great country. I would rather me go than my brother or someone else, so if it comes down to it I will not tell them about my asthma.
