You ever back down from a fight because you knew you were wrong?

I got charged with manslaughter from a bar fight once This guy was beating the piss out of his girlfriend outside and I confronted him and he swung at me So I hit him back.. Ended up beating the charge but I could have been fucked for life... Hit the guy one time, he went completely limp and hit his head on the concrete. Not sure if It was the punch or concrete that killed him, but that was the scariest 2 years of my life and I was in counseling for 4 years to get over the fact that I killed someone.

I dunno. I consider that worth it. If you beat your girlfriend, then expect to have things go badly for you.

You did the right thing

I always intend to, but it never works out that way. I can laugh off the insults and such, but the second he threateend me I would have seen red and popped him

You did good. I never want to fight and I don`t know what I would have done there, probably NOT fought but it has a lot to do with the one on one discussion with the guy in question.

I would more likely say, "I`m not gonna fight you, but I told your girl, when she get`s tired of you, to come to me." Then I`ll see what happens after that. I would still try not to fight. That`ll probably keep him on his toes though.

i havnt personally backed down from a fight, but if i were in the wrong, i would likely have said so, and apologised. BUT if he wanted to an abusive asshole, or still wanted to go with me after that...well then tahts a completely different thing

if you do something wrong, apologise. if they dont want to accept the apology and brawl...well i dont have a lot of choice but to defend myself...

Yeah the guy was really pissed and definitely not thinking rationally. I don't understand that kind of behavior, I guess I'm just not the jealous type.
