yet another protein question..

i have been using ON Gold Standard Whey. I recently found that Protein Factory's Whey Isolate 90 is the same price and the nutrition label is much more appealing. I did a search here on jp and found old posts regarding reports that PF wasn't living up to their claims. Should I avoid them? Have the issues been worked out?? Anyone use this product?? Thanks.

Protein factory is a good company.. As for there protein unless you are getting there big blast the rest of there stuff is over priced. Go big blast or go home when it comes to there proteins.

Believe it or not. All protein sold in the us (well 90% of it) all comes from the same few manufacturers of protein. So when you see all these advertizments about places that say they have the highest quality, triple filtered,Richest source of xyz, purest form, microfiltration, instantized, super duper big and beefy blah blah blah.. Chances are its a big load of crap..... Words used to make the product sound better.

The protein is self in the product All comes from the same place. Most of it anyway. The protein in protein factory protein is the same protein in Alltheways protein. No difference what so ever. All comes from the same damn place.

Now once they get the protein there is a lot of different things places will do with it yes. How they flavor it, what extra carbs sources they add to it so on and so forth. Whey protein isolates is whey protein isolates. Whey protein concentrate is whey protein concentrate. Of course there is instantized un instantized but again instantized whey protein concentrate is instantized whey protein concentrate and so and and so forth.

Some places will make a blend of these different types of protein like muscle milk And then call it there (perfect blend) or something fancy like that. Then load it up with tuns of sugar and wala kids just love it.

So the reason I say big blast is worth it is because its a different type o protein that most places are not using. Its super plasma or bovine protein. Yes true anyone can still get this form of protein from the same place protein factory gets it from though. But they don't and its not cheap and its not a huge money maker. Few places sell it and even fewer places sell it as cheap as protein factory does.

For all other forms of protein just go with a place you trust, good customer service, and has a good tasting mix at a good price with the micros you are looking for.

:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

i kinda figured that but the confirmation makes me feel better :) i just bought 10lbs of whey from vitamin shoppe for 60.00 on sale...i think i did good?

You got a GREAT deal. I bought 5 lbs last month "on sale" for $37..ON Gold Standard. Based on that comparison, you beat me by 23% !!

Thanks Needto, I did not know that! I'm glad though cause I bought "All The Whey"'s brand in cupcake batter for dirt cheap and it's the best tasting best mixing protein I've ever used!

I'll be interested in seeing what ON is bringing out in 17 more days.

What's that? Like some new awesome super protein? Cause I am almost out. five pounds in 12days....sheeeshshh

tell me bout it...i was using muscle max gormet chocolate fudge very very yummy but 52.00 and he says "im hooking you up bro" lol...3lbs gone in a week

better than monster milk?

I haven't tried Monster Milk. That's similar to Muscle Milk, right?

The Strawberry Myo tastes like a McDonalds Skrawberry shake. Even mixed in water. I usually hate strawberry shakes, but the Myo owns.

it taste yes. in quality its far better. but i only use it if i run out of bb.

ON is fucking nasty. I like Gaspari Myofusion. Best tasting whey blend out there.

Bro...you're going to tell me ON is nasty when you got that damn avatar staring me in the face...fuck me

P.S. I'm going to try some Myofusion, but after looking at your avatar, strawberry is out of the question.

I use ON Vanilla Ice Cream flavor. I don't know how anyone could call that nasty! That shit is good! Taste like a milkshake!

I think some of you misunderstood needto's post.

Most cmpanies get their protein from the same source, and protein is protein...BUT... SOME PROTEINS ARE MORE COMPLETE THAN OTHERS.

For example, Whey concentrate is only actually 78% total protein. Soy protein is missing certain amino acids. Some protein supps require bigger portions to get the total grams higher. Some proteins last longer, some are harder to digest, etc, etc.

So yeah, in a straight up comparison, there's no big diff. But in the case of something like BIG BLAST, you have super plasma serum which is far beyond any other protein source. And as it's "normal" protein it has cross filtered whey and whole egg -- more more ingredients most powders don't contain. So that's what makes it a superior product.

Hey, if you want cheap and tasty, buy some soy, and mix it with Bosco. It'll be cheap. The stats will sound good. It'll taste great. But it'll be crap. You're better off with food protein. But BIG BLAST is better than the protein from any food.

better how? you know i love big blast. this is a real question. better than food post w/o i agree only because or the fast digestion. are you saying better over all? if so how? im verry sceptical of that.

Better than any whole food protein is crazy talk. There's no doubt that BB is one of the best shakes around, but let's be real here.

I'm not saying that BIG BLAST is better than eating food! lol But the gram per gram, super plasma serum is far more effective at growing muscle than anything you'd include in your diet.

You can argue that a really clean whey isolate is purer than most any protein food except for maybe tuna. (Egg white is pure protein but not complete in the essential amino acids without the yolk, which is mostly fat). But the plasma serum has the advantage of bypassing the digestive tract. (As does hydrolized proein). So yes, they are actually BETTER protein sources.

This isn't to say that diet isn't important. You can't live on supplements. (Well, actually you probably could but it's crazy). Remember, it's a SUPPLEMENT. But if you're going to supplement, it should be a concentrated form of nutrition, just as a simple multi has a higher concentration of vitamins than any single food.

+1. I always bought whey and added cookies and cream muscle milk into a large 5 gal container and mixed the two together and WALLAH.

Where the FUCK is GEAR??????? lol

Where the FUCK is GEAR??????? lol

LOL! Yeah, GEAR will the purest form of protein since it doesn't have to be "eaten." Also, it'll contain protein fractions, which intensify the effect. We've had a little hold up, mainly because the ingredients aren't your typical stuff. But everything is in so it's a matter of bottling it and getting it out. The long weekend held us up a bit, but I'd say at this point, hang tight for another a week or two.

One other thing: BIG BLAST has creatine and NO2. Both put on size without added calories. Now, creatine is nothing new, but considering you save the the cost of buying EXTRA creatine (which is usually not as good as the p12 type) and the NO2 gives better pumps, that's a pretty good package for the price. And it tastes good. Muscle Milk is the only thing that comes close in falvor. (Gotta admit, the Muscle Milk banana is really good) but it isn't in the same league as BB and it cost about the same. The MONSTER Milk is a little better but even more expensive.

I take BB and mix in an extra scoop of SPP with it. Great stuff, makes the taste a bit off the normal BB test but hey...I'm getting more protein. I used to use Monster milk, great tasting but getting BB is about the same cost. for 4.4 pounds of Monster Milk is like 55 - 60.00. Big blast comes out to about 83.00 or so for 5 pounds with flavor so the cost is within 10.00 or so for the same amount of servings. sure you save a bit by getting monster milk but I think BB is superior due to what it contains.

just ordered 2 gallons of liquid egg whites from eggwhites international. looks promicing. we will see.

You going to use those in shakes? I thought I read something about being unable to absorb most of the protein from liquid eggs unless they were cooked.
