Wtf Im Being Suuuuued????

So an ex-gf of 6 yrs calls me at 3am and says her dog (that I know well) is dying and needs a surgery for $600 but her card is maxed and the vet offers a card but I'll have to co-sign. Please help save my dog....pleeease.
So Im not gonna let her friggin dog die so I say fine and tell the vet i'll sign the paperwork in the a.m. I talk to her the next day and shes gonna pay $100/mo and its done.
Fast forward 5 yrs and I've got a 20 page Court Citation zip tied to my front door that says I'm being sued for $2100 by Equitable Collectors inc. Not only did she not pay off the $600 but she realized it could be used for gas and groceries etc and didn't pay one dime of it. Apparently the debt collector realized I make money and she is a lost cause.

So I guess I just pay this shit and sue her ass???
Or just chalk this up as loss and move on???
Anyways fuck my diet Im going to get a bottle.

I wonder if its out of statute of limitations tho...

I just got sued for 7grand (of complete and total bullshit) and it was outside of statute of limitations...I actually showed up..spoke my peace and pointed out a lot of errors in both the accounting and the dates and supposed notary (dudes wife) and the judge dismissed it with prejudice (cant sue me again for it)

I suggest researching it, filing an answer and showing up

I called the court to get some general info and then called the law firm and both of them are so clueless that they didn't understand the questions I had regarding the claim....
This was filed in March 2012 so I think I'm stuck or at least its not a statute of limitations situation.

Oh and they're adding a fee for their overhead to pusue this claim lol. I asked this paralegal if that was standard protocol to charge the people that they are tracking down a service fee for finding them and makin them pay money.... just silence.

He did say if I called back next week he'd negotiate a lower settlement. He was probably late for happy hour.

That's what they threaten but apparently that is a scare tactic. I got a speeeding ticket the other day and a few days later didn't even think about the last jury duties i completely skipped. There are so many people that don't show up for JD now that it would be impossible to follow thru on the paperwork and jail space.
