New member
what are some of you guys workouts schedules. mine is this starting next week

DE bench- Mondays
Assistance and Extra work for the 3 lifts- Tuesdays
ME Bench- Wednesdays
DE Squat or ME Squat- Fridays

This is just a test run for me to see how things go. If it works out this week, I'll keep it the same, if not I'll swap Tuesdays and Fridays workout for sure. Beside..every workout needs a change of pace every now and again.

Personally, I'm taking a month off (but not really). I've decided not to waste my time and money by straining on this hip I'm paying to rehab. I'm going to skip competing in November, and take the rest of Sept and part of October easy. I want to heal my right wrist, and move forward on my hip. I will come back in December ready to prepare for the February Missouri APF Championships, hopefully healthier and stronger. I can either make this worse and eventually digress, or I can listen to my body and do what I need to do. I've learned, over time, that my body is always smarter than my ego. lol

So I will be doing straight accessory work for 2-3 weeks on bench, and doing straight weight for DE squats (no bands) until December. After 2-3 weeks, if my wrist is better, I will start in on a 5 x 5 type main move, with accessory work. If that goes well, I will go back to standard ME/DE benching.

IronLion is helping me with a routine to get me in shape to walk on for football this spring. I'll post it when we have it all nice and pretty.

Thank you!

I figure by letting it heal before it's a big problem, I will speed recovery a great deal, compared to doing two more comps back to back on it.

Damn that must be a tough thing to do.... i know how much i have to force myself to take a week off. Usually i actually have to go and visit my folks (the nearest gym is about 50 miles away and i don't have a licence, hehe)

Hope the rehab goes well....
Just make sure you keep the lovely avatars coming ;)

Thats exactly what I`m talking about. Your body is telling you something and your a smart lady cuz your listening in spite of the fact that you are probably way tempted to compete !!!
Who ever said discipline is easy ....................

It sure isn't. It will be harder than hell to handle at the comp I wanted to compete in, but on the other hand, it will get me fired up to prepare for the next one.

where is that meet in feb? is it the one at eagle?

sweet....that will be awesome to get to see you compete...thats the one i was wanting to try since i had to cancel mine.

There really is something to that. My last two comps, I made a point of attending a comp about 4 weeks out. Wow, that really gets you going! It's so hard to not lift. I end up coming home and just tearing it up for 4 weeks straight. I think I will always try to "just watch" a comp shortly before I compete in one.

My training partners will be competing though, so I will have plenty of work to do taking care of them. :)

kingc, that will be AWESOME! Can't wait to see you, and yours, again!

Oh, man....they will be there! All 13+ of us! I love it when we all compete together. The energy is incredible!

Last year, it was SO crowded that people were tripping over the "on deck" people to get in the door. I emailed Dionne today to see if they'd picked a date yet. I'll keep you posted!

ya know a link to an apf site to check out all the rules? i've looked and just comin up w/individual states.
