How many of you girls throw on the head phones and jam out to some good music well doing a work out?

I know most men listen to heavy metal, rock or rap. What are the women kicking butt too? Love songs? brain adems? ok ok just messing with ya.. Really though feel free to list some great work out music that you like to work out to.

Here is my thing. My head phones die in the middle of a work out. Forget it I am walking out and going home. I just can not stand not having something going on in my head well I am working out. Anyone else?

I'm with you....I can not workout without my IPod. I make sure it's fully charged before every workout too.
And for music(don't laugh) I have everything from Abba, Michael Jackson, Moody Blues, Queen, LRB, Madanna, Foreigner, Bee Gee's Rush...All kids of fun upbeat jammin music:chomp:

I listen to a lot of linken park, slipknot, disturbed, etc when lifting the hard stuff is not just for dudes. I do have some rap and hip hop to but don't reach for it as much as rock type music once and a while some really agreesvie electronic. For cardio I do like bubble gum pop crap or dance/trance music zone out good to.

Same here! If my headphones die, I run to the front desk of my gym to get one. Fortunately, they have a great supply there.......usually!

I need high beat music. I was born dancing(I swear I was dancing in my mother's belly, LOL!). Very hard to workout without music. I just don't feel it!

My gym don't have sheet. I something tops working or my batteries die and I am on my own.

music FUELS my workouts...my ipod has everything from britney spears to 50 cent to avenged sevenfold.

for cardio i love upbeat techno; bob sinclair, daft punk, benny benassi, scooter, etc.

and i LOVE making playlists for specific workouts!!

The other day I went to the gym only to find out that my ipod was dead. I walked right out (charged it at home, and came back). I can't work out without my music. Can't. Do it.

As for what kind of music...depends on if I'm lifting or doing cardio. My cardio mix is a blend of techno/trance and pop-y rock songs with a faster tempo. My lifting music is almost exclusively hard rock and metal. And I have a stretching playlist with mellow stuff like enya lol.

I don't hear music because I go to the gym with BF and co-worker so we constantly talk or help each other out, also my trainer (not personal trainer but feels like it, he inflicts pain for free :)) is always on my ass so I have tyo pay attention... probably cuz im still a n00b, maybe later on I'll get into music....

gah, I can't do it. Gym time is solitary time for me. Plus, my ipod is my douche protection. Even with it I have meatheads trying to chat me up. Without it I'd probably never get left alone.

I only like my iPod while doing cardio. I don't like it while I am lifting weights - I feel it detracts from my mind to muscle connection.
But on my iPod I have - Motley Crue, Brittney, Eminem,Sir Mix A Lot, Abba (Dancing Queen), Zac Brown Band - Chicken Fried!!!!!!!
Hank Williams Jr. and others

When I'm at the gym, all I tell myself to think is perseverance and pain, so I need something hard and edgy to get my head in the game. Anberlin, Linkin Park, Three Days Grace, Celldweller (more electronic; I've taken a liking to Pendulum while running), Breaking Benjamin, SR-71, Chevelle, Lacuna Coil, FireFlight, Within Temptation, Evanescence, System of a Down, Paramore, Alexisonfire (great screamo band, though I hate mostly every other screamo band, haha), 32 Leaves, and Wavorly are some of my favorites. Hard/alt-rock is not just for the guys!

If I need a break from musical slaughter in my ears, I'll switch to dance/electronica or pop-ish stuff. Kate Ryan and iiO are two women I can always listen to in the gym, and sometimes I'll switch to Justin Timberlake, Madonna, or heck, even fast-paced marching band stuff. =P

Dont laugh at me either lol, i listen to britney, madonna, pussycat dolls, lady gaga, some rap and anything else that makes me feel sexy! lol

I like all of them and could care less what people think. Pussycat dolls has a new one I like. I mean I like them all but I do not play them well working out though.

I will not workout without my Ipod either. If it dies then my workout is done. My music keeps me going. I like a wide variety of music that gets me going. I usually like fast hard music like these to keep me hyped up. Sometimes I would go to the gym feeling so tired, but after 5 minutes of listening to this stuff then I get a burst of energy. Linkin Park, Papa Roach, rap,etc is good for lifting, but I have to have my techno/house during cardio.
