Yea that was the comment I got from Quadsweep who even at the depleted state of 3.6% bf had the presence of mind to suggest changing the filter upon hearing that my furnace had a block of ice on it.

There's a chance the freon is low but I suspect the filter had somethign to do w/ it.

I'm a residential and commercial contractor. Changing filters every 30 days is a must. You run the risk or ruining the coil or freezing. Either way your HVAC tech will gladly charge you $70 / hr to help out.

OMG!

Don't feel bad. I had to do it when I was staying with my dad. He was getting lots of dust and allergens in the house. I went and checked the filters and said, "DAD, when was the last time you changed these?" He said "never." He had been living in the house almost a year and it was only a one month filter.

I went to lowes and got the 3 month filters for him...lol.
