G'luck! It's hard to find good desks... there's so much generic computer desk out there. I like to stick to standard workbench tables and a nice rolltop.
... and one of these would be prestigious, if I ever get a spare $5k
Woh, that's a spectacular bench.
My sister has a rolltop, don't think I can coax her out of it, though.

today was a bad day for my desk. i spilled lemonade ALL over it. then, and this is kinda impressive I suppose, i came on it by accident.

drafting table might be harder- they have to function. but a desk will be fun! i bet you find something great. You can always paint it... OR... MOSIAC THE ENTIRE THING.
omg, i want to help.
I did find a drafting table with two upper shelves~I know, weird, but it was a homemade one and 30 dollars

. If it's still there in a week I will grab it.... and mosiac the shelves and some pencil holders, thanks for the idea!.

Well I'm glad you asked!
I couldn't find a desk and as mentioned I did find a drafting table out of my budget. But, here is the aforementioned wingback, and a hucth I found for free. The hutch was in pieces and I've primed it and started to put it back together (added some hardware), took a shelf out for my tv and cut a hole for cable. I included a graphic of a quilt pattern I found on the web and I think I may do the door panels similarly.
The wingback is pretty dirty but very, very sturdy. I will try a reupholster along the lines of the second image, which I thought might be fun.
