Will working in a hot construction enviroment hurt my gains?

Dude, for 52 bucks an hour, who cares? There's more to life than bodybuilding, or at least there should be. You can still lift with whatever energy you have left after work and be bigger and in better shape than 99% of people. Plus, a job like yours makes you physically and mentally tough in a way just lifting weights can't.

Unless you think you have a serious shot at being the one in a million that makes a living at bodybuilding, don't give up a good paying job just to be able to train.

My 2 cents.

Why do you think top BB's don't have jobs??? For someone like me I'd rather make minimum wage, live in the hood, and drive a shitbox than work construction because it would eat up a lot of my training energy. Even a job stocking grocery store shelves in the AC would suck. Just my 2 ccs.

Wait until the head gasket blows in your car on the way to work. You'd quickly change your mind about driving a shitbox!!!!

Good post.

It's a hell of a lot better than having no job and no money I'm sure. I really don't think it's going to effect your gains. I have worked tough jobs similar to yours and been nothing but happy with my physique.

im a garbage man house to house in the city and we pick up about 11 tons of garbage btw me n my partner and i feel like its a non stop cardio n i guess cross training my heart is beating fast and i sweat more then anyone i guess its the parabolan but omg i look like i just jumped in a poool with my clothes on we usually finish in about 3hrs and i alwys wondered if that was enough cardio but then i loook at the other guys who do it then there fat i dont get it
anyway i figured if i did this and cardio i have to get shredded but i def need more sleep then ever im constantly napping any minute i can

I dunno bro. I've probably had well over 2 dozen personal training clients that were multi-millionaires over the years. At least half of them said that they would rather look like me and be middle class than live in their 25K square ft luxury homes, drive a $100K Mercedes, and be able to buy whatever they want, whenever they want.

Did you ever wonder why rich Hollywood types often turn faggot? It's because they're seeking something stimulating in life that money can't buy. This is especially true if they're single. When one has nothing to wish for, what do they do then??? Apparently they suck cock??? lol

One thing for sure is that there are way more millionaires in this world than there are guys that can win a 1st place trophy in a contest to see who looks best in their underwear.

i have the same dillema but i don't do cardio. the hardest thing for me to do is eat large amounts of food and put on more size during the summer months.

I wouldn't call my car a shitbox, but if it were I have a client that's a mobile mechanic for a living. He'll come fix my car on site whenever I need him to in trade for my personal training services. After getting repeatedly fucked by places like Pep Boys, I found him in the yellow pages. I had an estimate from Pep Boys for $400 to replace my waterpump. I figured I'd give this mobile mechanic guy a shot instead. It turns out my water pump was fine and all I needed was a $25 hose. Total charge was $80 and he fixed the car while it was in my driveway. No need to leave it at the garage overnight and find a way home and back the next day. That was 5 years ago and he's been working on my cars ever since. Now he's a personal training client of mine. He's dumped 40 lbs and 5 inches off of his waist. I presently have a $450 credit with him, so if my car takes a shit, I pretty much have it already covered. :)

yeah bro, I know what you mean. I own my own business (home repair and construction), and I am outside working in this heat all day long. About 8 -10 hrs a day, and my work truck has no AC, it sucks bigtime. I bet I sweat 5-8 lbs a day while working. I"m constantly moving, lifting, climbing on top of scaffolds, roofs, unloadiing materials, etc. I get a good cardio workout doing that all day before I get to the gym. But, my lasst cutting cycle, I still did cardio after doing this shit all day long, and it jsut gave me results faster than if I hadnn't done it. IF =your trying to bulk, definatley drop the cardio after working out in the gym, you;lll stilll stay pretty lean with all that you do at work.

Yea I wasnt even thinking about leaving my job. It pays great with awesome benefits and an even greater pension plan. I was more concerned about my gains while on a cycle. While off a cycle I pretty much just maintain what I have and try to keep my bf% low. I was happy with where I was, but now I want to get larger again. Ive gone from being 135lbs - 155lbs - 175lbs. Now I want more, I guess it really is addicting. But before I got into my program I was working an executive mngmnt position paying less per hour then I do now. But it was way easier day by day. So cut out the cardio during the cycle and cut while Im off the cycle?
