I went to the local baseball game last night. it's a minor league team in a small stadium. My son works at one of the concession stands.

I saw one of the IT guys, a scientist, and someone from sales that I work with. I sat near my neighbor, who runs the science dept. at the high school. I saw another neighbor and his kid, who works in the dairy farm. My daughter saw all of her friends, and hung out with them all night. I saw my son's current girlfriend, and his ex girlfriend (who also works there), and her mother. I knew the kid selling icecream, the kid selling popcorn, and the kid making french fries.

when we got tired of sitting, we decided to walk around. after a few minutes, I realized I left my purse in the stands, so I rushed back and there it was, where I left it.

when i woke up this morning, one of the neighbors left me a dozen fresh eggs at my back door.

I like this life so much better than any of my other ones.

Yeah, nothing really bad with our country, what you posted is some of the best stuff. I am jealous of the fresh eggs, I still miss the fresh milk from my exes' friend. I love that stuff.

amen. . .i lived in pittsburgh for 12 years. . .i like my lifestyle in the mountains so much better. . .yeah, i don't have a lowes or home depot two minutes from my house, but i'm absolutely a much nicer and more relaxed person here than i was there. . .

It sounds like a wonderful place to have kids Im used to citys where if it aint nailed down(and thats no guarantee)People steal it.Kudos for not losing your stuff

haha Pittsburgh is a small town to me.

agreed. . .compared to nyc, boston, northern jersey, dc, la, et al. . .it's just a small town with a thyroid problem. . .but i still sat in flippin' traffic every damn day for 12 friggin' years. . .now the only time i have to slow down or stop is if there's a flock of turkeys crossing the road. :)

Yeah the "parkways" here are outdated... re-doing those tunnels could take years of work

Well I agree!

A few weeks ago afore BM went back to the cesspool, she left her Credit Card on the gas pump.

The problem after cancelling the card was that someone found it and drove 10 miles to return the card.

After a really bad accident traffic was backed up for literally 10 miles on a Friday afternoon. The cars were routed to three different roads. They all merged onto the highway at the same place.

The people took turns going back on the highway, was the most amazing thing I have ever seen, like a fine ballet one car after another in order.

he list goes on and on.

:santa:

Wow that actually sounds nice especially to raise a family. I would likely get board though I love the city so much.

When the Old Grump takes the bike to work the neighbors REALLY  him.

I can't wait to get my girls here. True, this isn't a small town, but it isn't the big city nor is it a cesspool. There are parts of the United States where people still treat each other with respect and manners separate us from the rest of the animal kingdom.

I am a city girl, true but there are so many wonderful aspects of small townish living that one would have a hard time debating.

i used to live in the suburbs- not a bad area at all, but I left my car unlocked twice and it was broken into. Once, they got my purse. I was mugged at an ATM, and we had our shed broken into.

here, nobody locks their house and I see people leave their keys in their cars all the time.

when i was younger I might have gotten bored, but maybe not... people here don't complain about being bored, it's just different. There are plenty of bars and music, just not a lot of nightclubs. or none, really. not nearby.

I'm near a lot of lakes, so there's a lot of restaurants on the water, and bon fires.

Yep, there is a proposal here to send all the "underprivileged and homeless and those in need of half way houses" to the small cities in the surrounding communities..

but, no one will sell to the project.. go figure..

When I was little my parents moved from pittsburgh to hawaii to a small town in the middle of america... I loved it growing up, had friends that I would've taken a bullet for, got to be like token or the only asian kid in my crew, loved it... no violence, you know everyone, but yeah when I finsh med school I would rather practice in a town with like 50 000 people or less... small towns rock :chomp: I especially diig the fact that time the air or aura of the place is a lot less culturally schizophrenic than say Vegas, where my folks live now.
I also think living in a small town made me closer to my folks...

That's the way it was where I grew up. When I moved to Vegas -- I shit you not -- my car was stolen in less than 24 hrs (locked with no keys in it)..... And it wasnt even a "bad" neighborhood.....

im back in a city of 100 000 after having been in a city of 1 000 000. took a girl out the other night, was seen in public for 5 minutes (i walked her ot her car) - her phone rang 10 minutes later with angry relatives wanting ot know why she was seen with a womanizing bastard. literally 10 minutes. dublleyou tee eff, mate!

make sure no one in your small town finds out about this site which you are a prominent member of haha
