Why don't I get sore?

The only muscle group that gets sore is my chest. Why? I feel like I hit it hard on every muscle group.

When I was a young buck I used to get so sore you couldn't touch my shoulders for a week, but no I can't make those bastards sore. What's up wit dat?

your body is used to the routine and conditioned very well. try changing things up once in a while. try a different machine at the gym etc.

i read the russians always criticize american lifters cause we do the same routine over and over while they aim to change things up every 2-3 weeks.

Yep , that. And not enough reps.

I agree. Need to constantly switch up that routine. Add in higher rep days, Super sets, etc. Just to switch it up and throw your body off.

Change your workout up. Vary your rep/set schemes. Alternate heavy/light weight.

dude im the same way. i just cannot get my biceps sore. it wont happen. and i do everything you can do for biceps i have 3 different curl bars i use both overhand and underhand and wide and close on each one plus hammer curl grip, also dumbells in every different way, pull ups , cable curls, heavy light lots of reps idk maybe i should just go for a ridiculous amount of sets + reps???

weighted underhanded pull-ups get my biceps sore....try these

with your biceps also try holding the form up and squeezing the muscle, then slowing releasing back down. and rep until failure. i've trained with people that stop when they start feeling the squeeze/burn. not the way to do it. go until failure, rest and repeat.

thanks steve and truck daddy but i also do both of those lol. i have a iron gym pull up bar and for pull ups/ chin ups i put on a back pack and throw some weights in it, even do drop sets starting with wide, then hammer curl grip then close, underhand overhand , then taking the back pack off and supersetting it with just normal bodyweight pull ups. and steve i do that i was reading an article about arnold swarzennegger i think on muscletech and fitness. to squeeze at the peak contraction. i also do sets where ill go real slow, 5 seconds up 5 seconds down, and then do sets with reps as fast as i can go, to hit both slow and fast twitch muscle fibers. i probably go to failure 95% of the time. still cant get sore in my biceps, forearms get a little sore sometimes, only if for some reason i missed a couple days or maybe took a week off break to concentrate on running and let my body catch up

Form is also a major factor. I see guys doing tri pressdowns with a full rack of weight. But they are slouched over, shoulder slouched and using their delts to push the weight!

The main thing I learned from my shoulder injury was to always pull my back back (trying to touch shouolderblades together) and keep the chest out.

It does wonders!!

Dude, I'm with ya. Felt the same way. However, I did what the fellas on here suggested. I went bolistic with maybe the one excercise I had not done for bicepts. I started off light and did a crazy pyramid until I felt like my arms were litterally about to tear open. I then stepped it back down and totally squashed my arms that day. The next day I finally felt like I was 18 running around wanting all the chicks to check out my tight ass arms again! The soreness was there. I guess after years of torture, they adapt. I did a bicept workout that I had never done before and it worked. I'll keep this up, changing everything, every time from here on out.

Thanks for the ideas fellas!

As long as you are pounding the weights you will grow. There were times certain bodyparts would not get sore for me but they still grew. As long as you switch up the routines you should get sore again.

I'd do legs with 25-50 reps. Squats. Leg press. Etc.
