Why does God hate New Orleans (S.E. Louisiana) so much?

first Katrina ... now a oil spill bigger than the Valdez :worried:

is he punishing us cuz there are so many Mo's down here

I'm confident Barry will resolve this in a manner consistent with the other major obstacles he's tacked so far in his administration.

just sayin'

that sucks i've been following the story.
esp for the 11 dudes who sunk with teh platform :(

Because of the fags, and all the voodoo shops. God doesn't hate NO, I went down there in 2002 the dirtiest
city I ever been too. God Just gave it a bath!

republicans are going to take a hit for the "drill here, drill now" slogan.

And BP better start lubing up. THis one is comin big and black....lol.

If God hates New Orleans... what about Africa? Know the existence of this continent?

New Orleans is part of the richest country in the world... obviously is a disaster, but in 5 months, 6, one year... New Orleans will be again a clean region and still being rich... Africa, in 5 months, 6, one year, still have the highest ratio of mortality, still have poor, 5 kids still diying every minute...

I don't think that God or Destiny or whatever hate New Orleans.

sorry broseph this is on obama's watch and he is getting called out for slow response just like bush did for katrina.
democrats need gas too, and i'm sure inland drilling is more preferable but your bros the dems hate that so gas companies gotta build these expensive and dangerous offshore rigs.

I'm not quite sure what Barry is up to. I have to think Barry will take a little fire for not being responsive enough, then fire back by proposing sweeping new regulation of all energy producers. This oil slick may be barry's ticket to cap-and-tax on steroids.

from what it sounds like bp was tellin everybody it was nothin. It wasn't till they started looking at the sat photo's that they realized the spill had to be "ALOT" larger than what they were lettin on. Not 100% sure how this goes down, but I think ole spunky might be right on this one....barry isn't gonna take any hit, this actually will play right into his hands.

Never let a good crisis go to waste!

I foresee the "Environmental Salvation for the Future of Our Children Act" which will create a new government agency filled with people dedicated to charging and granting carbon credits. Then they can be traded by Goldman Sachs as securities which can be bundled-up and sold to banks as investment products. Maybe we can even secure the higher-risk tranches with credit default swap agreements so they won't be as risky.

I love this plan! Anybody want to by a set of my Series A High-Yield Environmental Salvation Securities? They're insured by AIG, so its got to be good stuff.

Quoted by YOUR beloved president FDR!

And he used the Great depression (good Crisis) to implement his welfare state, that
we are still paying for.

Then again a love your wit! (LOL)

It's part bad luck (hurricanes come when they come; oil spills happen), and for the Katrina aftermath, it's part the fault of the New Orleans residents and their attitude. I've never seen such a bunch of lazy bums in my life. Not because they're one color or another, and not because there's a lack of money in many neighborhoods. There was indeed bungling on the part of the emergency management, and on the part of the government. However, if I had been there, and I got flooded, I'd have gotten out there with a shovel and cleaned up my house, bought a couple bottles of bleach and disinfected, and repaired the damage. I would not have sat on my big fat ass, and waited for the government to come save me as if I were an infant who dropped my bottle. I was right in the middle of the 1994 Northridge Earthquake in Los Angeles, and I didn't ask for any free help from the government. In fact, nobody did. When the sun came up, the neighbors were all out there, including me, cleaning up glass, checking on neighbors, and forming plans to get as much of our frozen food into motorhome and trailer freezers with battery power, and did everything we could to stabilize things. Later, once my house was cleared, I drove around the San Fernando Valley to check on old or handicapped people I knew of, and helped them to upright furniture, etc. Then the next day, I drove around nearby suburbs and found a motel with running hot water, and I got a room for all of the Box Canyon residents who wanted to go take a shower. Someone else took a list of phone numbers, and drove out to Ventura County and called peoples' relatives to say they're OK, and that the phones were still out. All of the restaurants along Ventura Blvd, where it's usually $50/plate to eat, put up makeshift barbecues in the street and cooked and gave away all of their meat, as it otherwise would have spoiled with no power. All of the stores and banks sat empty with smashed windows and no alarms, and nobody stole anything. Even street thugs must have seen God, and behaved. Within 5 days, the entire city was operational again, except for the freeway system which lay broken for a few months. I went back to work two days after the earthquake, and so did everybody else. By the time Clinton came and was driven around town, we had pretty much stabilized the situation, all fires were out, and all missing people accounted for. Out of 20 million citizens of Greater Los Angeles County, 63 died. NOT BAD!!! And now 16 years later, the ONLY evidence that there was a catastrophic earthquake is on city and state-owned property. The sidewalks are still busted and up-heaved in some places, and there is still a temporary water main sitting under gravel in one area. And the old Los Angeles County Jail is still sitting vacant with a busted roller bearing in the foundation SIXTEEN years after the earthquake. ALL private buildings were repaired or replaced within the first year. So this is absolute proof that if you lazily depend on the government for help, you're gonna wait 'til the cows come home.

Obama can blame BP for misleading him about the seriousness of the situation....they're already putting out the narrative. One can argue Bush wasn't johny on the spot enough blaming the local government for issues related to katrina and the failed planning for first response.

Maybe you should pick someone who supposedly wronged you and just sue them. It would prolly be cheaper for them to settle = xannies galore.

Just wait...you'll get a gubmit check...

I think I'm starting to feel a respiratory ailment cuming on.

There must be a gubmint hotline or a attorney looking out for those of us who've been victimized by this.

Maybe you could cite the anxiety over uncertainty about the oil hitting shore. Shouldn't that be good for a bottle of 30 or so?

Good idea! :)

Being as str8 as I am it would likely be more believable that trying to sell a Dr. on the idea that I'm anxious over any insecurity related to my masculinity.
