Everyone's reasoning for heading to the clubs is unique in its own way..
I believe that they are places that appeal to your styles, fantasies and dreams...
They allow you to be yourself,and take away from the stresses of real life and they allow people to bring a surreal twist into their lives...
The setting and the music plays greatly into the vibe though, I do agree with SmoknJilly....
The more genuine and unique the setting, the more you will capture...

As long as you enjoy yourself that's what matters. I actually met a really decent girl at the club recently. One of the few times I've actually took the time to get to know someone outside the club scene and so far it's been worth it.
Hell we were the only ones not dancing and that's how it started. her friends hooked me up by taking off and leaving us together which turned out to be a good thing. If you know what you are looking for you will find wherever you are. Funny though that you usually find it the easiest when you aren't even looking for it.

I NEED NIGHTCLUBS
I simply MUST go to a nightclub just about every weekend ´cause:
-good sound (deep house, club house, trance)
-release my stress (see friends, new people, chat , have a few drinks)
-i enjoy playing with chemical enhancements (E,K,CK,G,weed)(often safely )
-horny chicks are there.(sex inside the club is one of my fetish.)

Well I most certainly do NOT go to clubs to pick up guys - I'm married and totally monogamous (and in lurve - after all, we've only been together 6 years now....). I tend to go to goth clubs rather than dance clubs as most of my friends are goths, as am I.
Anyway, music is really important to me. I listen to music every day, and if I don't get to dance at least once a week I get stir crazy. I often put on loud dance music in my living room and boogie round to that. Currently listening to VNV Nation - anyone wholikes trace will appreciate this duo BTW. I also love playing dress-up and in goth clubs I can get away with wearing what is practically a costume every time I go out. I'm going for 80s rock chick this evening. I love spending 20 minutes doing my makeup and so on (hint - a fine layer of hairspray over eye makeup sets it and it doesn't run when you dance).
I like trance clubs too. They are good for wearing whatever I've recently bought from cyberdog as well! Although you'd be amazed how may goths here wear day-glo pink and uv-reactive yellow too.
Basically here in the UK it's hard to get alcohol after around 11pm so there are two kinds of clubs. Type one is just excuses to sell alcohol until 3am. These all suck because they are full of really drunk people falling over you on the dancefloor, trying to grab your titties without permission (this gets 'em a knee in the nuts in my case) etc etc. Then there is club type 2 which is full of people who like to DANCE and are there for the MUSIC and ATMOSPHERE. These clubs I like. Even drum 'n' bass clubs. Clubs where everyone is on E or speed tend to have a nicer atmosphere than alcohol-fueled ones - another reason to legalise recreational substances imho.
