In Canada, that would be a size 19.6 (metric ass system)

I don't even look at the sizes on jeans. I just eye them and grab a few pairs to try on. I'm always a size 4 in skirts. Jeans are another matter. I literally have jeans marked from sizes 4-14 that all fit me perfectly right now. lol What the hell?

but see, you go and try them on. That was my stupid mistake I did by not trying them on. But when you have your husband at the mall with you - he dont like waiting: just grab, pay and leave

antrax - yea it was US size. The european size that fits me is 28

I blame my BF!!! Anytime he's in a clothes shop with me he's bored out of his brains, says "They're great" just so we can leave and its only when I get home I relaise I should have bought a different size!

Okay everybody ...listen up. I use to work for a ladies garment producer. So I know this to be fact , as I am sure it goes for ALL lines of clothing. When the order filler gets the order and it calls for a size 8 pant. That person then goes to fill the order for that size 8, well they are out of size 8. So they get either the next larger or smaller size, take it to the quality controll dept. They inturn will take out the wrong size label, and sew in the size that was needed to fill that order. Happens in ALL areas of the clothing world.
It's all true...now you know why you can't find the same size clothes. I always try my stuff on when I buy something.

wow, thanks for the info. That was really great

Ancient history lesson from Life magazine.

It seems American society was crumbling as "young people" began to wear
the original Levis ...

Girls would buy them a size larger, put them on, and sit in a tub of water.
Then they'd let the jeans dry while wearing them. This would be repeated until the denim was molded to their body.

The boys woiuld buy them larger and wear them lowered on their hips below the navel .. the cuffs rolled up ... the legs baggy.

LOL ... 1957 .... LOL

You really can't pay attention to what size the label says. It's really a cruel mind game designed to make women feel bad about themselves. LOL. I have clothes ranging from US sizes 6-12. Even within one store, I may be two different sizes (depending on the cut, the fabric, whether it's a skirt or pants, etc).

I worked part-time in a women's clothing store in graduate school. Our petite cutoff was 5'4, and a lot of women try on regular pants that fit everywhere but were too long, so I'd tell them to try on a size larger in petites, because they'd be the exact same cut in the waist/hips/thighs, and the length would be shorter. The'd freak out and get angry with me because they didn't want to wear a "bigger size." Instead, they'd buy the regulars and then pay extra to have them hemmed, all because of a stupid number on the label.

Same here. I've got such short legs, it's such a pain finidng pants that are not too long (not a big deal with some dress pants, but for stuff like jeans that you can't really hem it's a pain)...not to mention stores that make petites/short pants, but don't carry them in the store, the only way to get them is to order online. Pain in the @ss.
