Why Are You Not a Platinum Member? K for answers

spent way too much on gear and pct, don't get paid until wednesday, then coming back to platinum, only way to go really...
 
With the cost of everything going up and my salary rising at a slower pace, cut backs are required. I don't post much but read everyday and use the board for information on a lifestyle that I love.

I was plat for a year or two, I actually still miss it, but took a new job with a lot of out of town work so i am not on as much as i would like, I couldnt justify paying for the plat when for a while there i was only able to log on 2-3 times a month....

Will be when I finish Law School...(If I get in next year, that is) Right now just an old struggling college student in his mid-late 20s. Its not expensive though, I should just buckle down and save my duckets up
 
Gas is up over 100% from last year, food is up over 40% from last year, the cost of gear is going up etc. The economy is in the shitter and things are only going to get worse.

Although, it is ONLY $12.00 a month. That is very inexpensive. I told my wife and son they had to skip two meals each this month so I could keep rolling Plat. Hey, that's what families do for each other. :)

Awesome answer. I plan on going PLAT here soon just for the fact that I love being informed and get enough of the site. Too much good info on the site to not have PLAT.

I love this board, even without the plat status it is still the best out there. I would do it in a heart beat but The University of Alabama sucks my pockets dry. It'll be worth it when I'm a Chiropractor though and have a lifetime plat membership.

Go to a public institution. I know people who pay close to $1000 a month, for 25 years, on their private law school loans.

The University is Public and it still is an A$$ LOAD! But at least I can intern with the football team. A $1000 doesn't even come close to what I pay.

My book if used right can be saving you a lot of money on food bro. Food waist is the number 1 expense when it comes to food cost and no one really knows it. Most families waste/throw away 30% or more and a single person 15% or more.
when you learn proper food management ou can cut that cost down to almost nothing. Saving youeself hundreds every month. Think about that next time you are throwing away that rotted fruit, spoiled meet,moldy bread and other things.
 
People if you want to save money on food then learn how to put it all to better use. Stop waiting it. How man of you throw away food.

not just waste--i have a weeks worth of your choc power bars for maybe $5--and i can pronounce all the ingredients :).........which makes up for all the 7 day trials i gave away on this thread :worried:

The reason is because I just got a divorce and pay almost $400 wk in cs and I have to give my attorney another $2000 this month because I am fighting for custody! I just moved into my own place and had to buy all new stuff plus I just joined the gym and the cost of my food and supplements so it's kind of tight right now. Believe me I want to join asap!!!

to me, the main advantage is the search function--and the stalth surf so I can sit at my desk w/o any banners or pic and not the elitefitness url.

the other reason--for me at least is to support the site, but i respect your opinion and thanks for an honest answer!

Stealth log in makes it worth it. I was plat but now my boss knows that I juice and use EF all day at work but does not care as long as my production is through the roof. Keepin it gangsta gangsta.

stealth surf...www.expertpcsupport.com has an entry point to ef--sign in like usual, but no banner ads/pics/etc so there is just text on the screen----that way you need no worry about surfing history or people see what you do not want them to see--like naked chicks avatars.

and w/o plat password it is just a computer help site

and, please, no cost analysis----just read a few hundred pages of one so i could write a disclosure to the sec--ughghhgh
 
well here's my deal...i work like a billion hours a week and guess where all my money goes...the g/f and bills...and since we're having our first child in 3 months, guess where all my recent money has gone...u guessed it...the baby...we need this, that, this, that, 20 more of those, we gotta replace all the drywall and carpet in the nursery...we have to paint...we need to buy furniture...of course she wanted all cherry oak wood furniture for the baby...yada yada...did i mention, i drive a z71 suburban with a 33 gallon tank at $4 a gallon...ooo yea...just got a wonderful new car payment since her jeep isn't BABY friendly...so pretty much i work my ass off everyday and have nothing personally to show for it lol...but no worries, i'm gonna sneak a lifetime plat. in the next month or so and then i'll be good to go...hopefully i'll get some killer k from EF Frank when the time comes!!!

i've heard it's up around $270,000 and by the time my lil girl is 18 it's probably gonna be like $500,000...thx for the congrats and yea, i'm sticking to one right now lol...

i guess that is one way of looking at it-- but you don't have to pay--you just get some extra features with a plat and a lot of bros think these features are worth .39 cents a day.
 
I've just been cheap and lazy. I've been meaning to do it but cash is tight while I'm trying to buy a house and I'm trying to cut all extraneous spending. Though in truth I don't know what I'd do w/out this site.......
 
I just went plat a few days ago... I'd been snooping around on the site for quite some time before that so, it was about time. I'm glad I went platinum, and I just made my first thread on the "Bodybuilding and the Law" forum yesterday...

. mods are not paid at all. i "push" plat memberships b/c the greater the number of paying members the more freedom the admins have to keep the board clean.

i am a tax attorney and partner in my firm-i don't need nor would i take money for being a mod--i just think the board is a valauble resource for many people inlcuding myself.

and if your question was a not-so subtle attempt to complain about me trying to get bros to become paying members of the site I suggest you ask yourself why you care?

I have been platinum a few times. In the end I'm just a cheap a$$.

It's not worth spending $140 a year or paying $300 for a lifetime membership just to be able to use a search feature and see thumbnails.

When I was platinum I just saw it as a donation to the site.

Id love to go Plat, but id like to see the site giving a little more back, like even a SEARCH feature for us non-plats lol.

I agree the site is a great resource for info, but ALOT of the information comes from US members. I cant even search to find some of MY own old threads to find info that I once posted. I think having to pay for the search feature is the one reason I DONT pay for the search feature lol. I feel like Im being FORCED into paying for basic features, Id be more willing to donate to the site if I didnt feel like I was being "forced" into it.

I already send lots of my money to our sponsors, help out anytime I can, promote the site and sponsors out in the real world, I think I have earned the right to search for some info lol.

I dunno Im always on the fence about it lol.

I love the site, though, really I do.

Lipostacks, Lean Muscle Stacks, extra Dermacrine, Prohormones, LiverSupport lol All of my supplement money, except for protein, goes to these guys lol.

Hell I wear my PP and JAM shirt all the time when Im just runnin around haha.

the search feature is a significant benefit--and an enticement byt lets face it, if the board is not run like a business there would be no board.

heck, if you read the newspaper online there are dozens of pop-ups and if you want an article older than a few months, you pay.

That's a great point. I'm sure I'll go play again but to me it will just be a donation to the site.

With the bills I have now and the fact that I owe on student loans, it's just not really economical to pay for a platinum membership. I don't need any added expenses right now no matter how small.

I dont read online newspapers, paying for news and information on a website in which the new/information was posted by a NON-PAID member of the board is kinda lame.

I posted information for the website, for free, I was not paid for my information, now Im supposed to PAY to find information that was posted for free for everyone. Just seems there are other ways for the site to get money and draw plat members that it shouldnt need to take away the most important tool on a forum.

bro i hear you with the student loans--i have close to $200k----2/3 the amount of my mortgage (but at least most of the loans are at a little less then 4% :worried:

I think going plat should give you more perks. I'm not really sure what that would be but I think access to e-books would be a good start. Maybe a discount on EF products, I don't know.

that is another neat idea--but b/c of the royalty issues even the elite mods pay for the books--but there may be an idea there---i will certainly pass it on. goo bro input

This would def be a good idea. If not full access to e-books, maybe a considerable discount on them?? I know that once I get to the job i'm striving for, I will deff get a lifetime membership. I cant live without this constant "up to date" info.

I wish I could afford the "lifetime" (even with the great deals) right now but the ol' debt to income ratio isnt the greatest at the moment. And for all of the months I've paid in the past, that would have paid for a lifetime membership, prob twice!
 
I wonder if this site sells a lot of clothing. It seems like that would be a good way of advertising for EF. Think about it, a lot of noobs see jacked guys wearing shirts that say EliteFitness, then a lot more people goto the site, buy plat. memberships, supports the sponsors, etc.

If you're plat maybe you could get a free shirt for every 1000 posts or something. People like free clothes and it would be good advertising.

i would not assume that at all :) --that is why i started this thread--to see what members wanted and you, DJ, and others have made some very valid points and I like the ideas....and the t-shirt idea is really good--

I just think there are a lot of possibilities that would be profitable for EF and beneficial for it's members

I was just thinking about it. People ask me stuff at the gym all of the time. What are you drinking, what supplements do you take, what creatine, blah blah blah.

What if you wore a shirt from PP or what if your shirt said www.elitefitness.com? There are tons a guys on this site that are twice my size. I'm sure it would really help promote the site.

You could have shirts with Amplify02, lipoflame, or whatever. You could come up with different incentives that are special deals for platinum members such as karma hits, posts, time on the site, how long you have been a member, etc.

I really want to read some of the e-books but I don't want to pay that kind of money. I wish they came in a hard copy form.

EF Frank is always open to new ideas re: memberships---i will see what he says. I am more apt to pay for things that way--i bought a vacuum cleaner that way just b/c they offered that deal.
