Old skool vs. new skool. Royce is gettin up there in years but he did pretty much jumpstart every MMA dojo in the states... I can't wait to see this shiz

Strength and standup = hughes
Experience and flexibility, submissions = gracie

The only thing better would be Rickson vs....well, anybody. lol

Opinions???

Not psyched at all....Hughes will open him up real quick, end the fight by referee stoppage. I wonder if Royce will be rocking the Gi, lol. Rickson is the man though...but too old, bro.

I will join the consensus on this one.
Gracie was the man when nobody knew what he was doing.
BJJ dominated early UFC events as nobody knew much about it.

Todays fighters are very much aware of, and train heavily in grappling along with wrestling, clinching, standup and GNP. Hughes is also exceptionally strong for his size and has a dense farmboy physique.

Matt should win pretty easily.

The Hughes vs GSP fight rematch is the one that I think will be more interesting. I actually think GSP will take the belt when they meet again although it promises to be a good fight either way.

rickson died bro

I'm excited to see this too. My personal opinion is that Hughes will overpower and dominate his much older opponent. Hughes is known for his ridiculous strength and I can see a classic pick up, carry across the mat, slam, and brutal GNP to finish the fight.

Who knows what Gracie still has in him, may be he is saving the best for last.
But it's true, Gracie was the man when he faught the way no one knew how to fight. I want to see the weaker, older man to win.

The other thing that Gracie had going for him in the beginning was NO ROUNDS. I just thought of this. He had some bouts that were like 30 mins, an hour, etc. He would just wait for teh other dude to fuckup and then FINALLY grab an arm, etc. Now that he's gotta stand up every 5 mins, he might get hurt BAD. Hughes is a monster at his size.
