Who Would You Die For ?

tinytank

New member
who would happily die for, like if u knew someone had to die, but you could save them by giving them your life ? DEEP QUESTION

my kids

Easy. I would die for my children and my family. I would also die defending something that I truely believed in.

My older brother.

*Had to edit this one*

Any one of my brothers, sisters, neices or nephews.

if it was for a group of people, id die for my family, but if it was my life in exchange for another, theres no-one yet that id exchange my life for.

but in heirarchy of an individual loved one, for example my brother

if i had to sacrifice myself a quick death to save my bro from a quick death- wouldn tdo it

if my brother was gunna get tortured and a long painful death, and i could stop it with a quick death - id do it

if my brother was gunan get tortured and i had to be tortured to save him- wouldnt do it

Anyone of my family members and especially my daugther!!

What about if the death you chose was very slow and painful, not quick and heroic like in the movies? (Example, the person you would have saved died a quick death but if you had tried to save them the injuries you would have sustained would ultimately kill you, only after suffering for months) Would that change you’re answer? Do you think they would want you to do this?

Children excluded from these questions

Killed if they DONT say they would die for their children :o

I cant believe ANY parent WOULDNT die for their child (if it came to that...)

I make a barbequed tuna sandwich that is -to die- for.

If I didn't have a daughter, and God gave me the courage, I would lay down my life for many people.

Where's your freedom when you're dead?

Thats what freedom is, when there's nothing left to lose!! It lives on through everyone else that you helped stay free.

You never really know until you're placed in that position, and then it is usually a split second that you have to decide. Hopefully, nobody here will have to make that choice.

I have here a very old letter, written to a Mrs. Bixby in Boston. "Dear Madam: I have been shown in the files of the War Department a statement of the Adjutant-General of Massachusetts that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle. I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom. Yours very sincerely and respectfully, Abraham Lincoln."
Captain Miller: I don't gripe to you. I don't gripe in front of you. You should know that.
Private Reiben: Sorry, sir, but let's say you weren't a Captain, or maybe I was a Major. What would you say then?
Captain Miller: In that case, I'd say this is an excellent mission, sir, with an extremely valuable objective, sir. Worthy of my best efforts, sir. Moreover, I feel heartfelt sorrow for the mother of Private James Ryan and am willing to lay down the lives of me and my men - -especially you, Perkele and Andy13 - -to ease her suffering.
Captain Miller: Caparzo, get that kid back up there!
Private Caparzo: Captain, the decent thing to do would be take her over to the next town.
Captain Miller: We're not here to do the decent thing, we're here to follow fucking orders!
Private Reiben: You want to explain the math of this to me? I mean, where's the sense in risking the lives of the eight of us to save one guy?
Captain Miller: Anyone wanna answer that?
Medic Wade: Hey, think about the poor bastard's mother.
Private Reiben: Hey, Wade, I got a mother, you got a mother, the sarge has got a mother. I'm willing to bet that even the Captain's got a mother. Well, maybe not the Captain, but the rest of us have got mothers.
[Lining up a rifle shot]
Private Jackson: Be not that far from me, for trouble is near; haste Thee to help me.
[Lining up a rifle shot]
Private Jackson: Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.
[Lining up a rifle shot]
Private Jackson: My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
[Lining up a rifle shot]
Private Jackson: O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
Private Jackson: Seems to me, Cap'n, this mission is a serious misallocation of valuable military resources.
Private Jackson: Well, sir, seems to me, God gave me a special gift, fashioned in me a fine instrument of warfare.
Sergeant Horvath: I don't know. Part of me thinks the kid's right. He asks what he's done to deserve this. He wants to stay here, fine. Let's leave him and go home. But then another part of me thinks, what if by some miracle we stay, then actually make it out of here. Someday we might look back on this and decide that saving Private Ryan was the one decent thing we were able to pull out of this whole godawful mess. Like you said, Captain, maybe we do that, we all earn the right to go home.
Captain Miller: Earn this.
Captain Miller: James... I'm here to tell you your brothers were killed in combat. They're dead.
Private Ryan: Which one, sir?
Captain Miller: All of them.
Sergeant Horvath: You don't know when to shut up; you don't know HOW to shut up!
Sergeant Horvath: Stars
Lieutenant Dewindt: Yeah, Brigadier General Amend, deputy commander, 101st. Some fucking genius had the great idea of welding a couple of steel plates onto our deck to keep the general safe from ground fire. Unfortunately, they forgot to tell me about it until we were just getting airborne. Well, that's like trying to fly a freight train. OK? Gross overload. Trim characteristics all shot to hell. I nearly broke both my arms trying to keep her level. And when- and when we released, you know I cut as hard as I could, tried to gain some altitude and still keep her from stalling. We came down like a fucking meteor. And that is how we ended up. And the others, they stopped easy enough OK, though, you know? We were just-we were just too damn heavy, you know? The grass was wet, downward slope and all. 22 guys dead.
Captain Miller: All that for a general?
Lieutenant Dewindt: One man.
Private Reiben: Lot of that going around.
Private Reiben: I got a bad feeling about this one.
Captain Miller: When was the last time you felt good about anything?
Captain Miller: Well when I think of home, I... I think of something specific. I think of my, my hammock in the backyard or my wife pruning the rosebushes in a pair of my old work gloves.
Private Ryan: This, this one night, two of my brothers came and woke me up in the middle of the night. And they said they had a surprise for me. So they took me to the barn up in the loft and there was my oldest brother, Dan, with Alice, Alice Jardine. I mean, picture a girl who just took a nosedive from the ugly tree and hit every branch coming down. And... and Dan's got his shirt off and he's working on this bra and he's tryin to get it off and all of a sudden Shawn just screams out, Danny you're a young man, don't do it! And so Alice Jardine hears this and she screams and she jumps up and she tries to get running out of the barn but she's still got this shirt over her head. She goes running right into the wall and knocks herself out. So now Danny's just so mad at us. He, he starts coming after us, but... but at the same time Alice is over there unconscious. He's gotta wa... , wake her up. So he grabs her by a leg and he's drag, dragging her. At the same time he picks up a shovel. And he's going after Shawn, and Shawn's saying, what are you trying to hit me for? I just did you a favor! And so this makes Dan more angry. He tries to swing this thing, he looses the shovel, goes outta his grasp and hits a kerosene lantern. The thing explodes, the whole barn almost goes up because of this thing. That was it. That was the last, that was, Dan went off to basic the next day. That was the last night the four of us were together. That was two years ago. Tell me about your wife and those rosebushes?
Captain Miller: No, no that one I save just for me.
Private Jackson: What I mean, sir, is if you was to put me with this here sniper rifle anywhere up to and including one mile from Adolf Hitler... with a clean line of sight... well, pack your bags, boys. War's over.
Captain Miller: It's like finding a needle in a stack of needles.
Captain Miller: He better be worth it. He better go home and cure a disease, or invent a longer-lasting light bulb.
Captain Miller: You see, when... when you end up killing one your men, you see, you tell yourself it happened so you could save the lives of two or three or ten others. Maybe a hundred others. Do you know how many men I've lost under my command?
Sergeant Horvath: How many?
Captain Miller: Ninety-four. But that means I've saved the lives of ten times that many, doesn't it? Maybe even 20, right? Twenty times as many? And that's how simple it is. That's how you... that's how you rationalize making the choice between the mission and the man.
Private Reiben: You wouldn't shoot the kraut and now you're gonna shoot me?
Sergeant Horvath: He's better than you.
Sergeant Horvath: This time the mission is the man.
Captain Miller: Sometimes I wonder if I've changed so much, my wife is even gonna recognize me whenever it is I get back to her, and how I'll ever be able to, tell about days like today. Ahh, Ryan. I don't know anything about Ryan, I don't care. The man means nothing to me; he's just a name. But if, you know, if going to Rem"al, and finding him so he can go home, if that earns me the right to get back to my wife, well then, then that's my mission.
Captain Miller: Things have taken a turn for the surreal.
Private Ryan: Picture a girl who took a nosedive from the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.
[Being told he can go home]
Private Ryan: Hell, these guys deserve to go home as much as I do. They've fought just as hard.
Captain Miller: Is that what I'm supposed to tell your mother when she gets another folded American flag?
Private Ryan: You can tell her that when you found me, I was with the only brothers I had left. And that there was no way I was deserting them. I think she'd understand that.
Captain Miller: [weakly mutters something]
Private Ryan: [leans in closer] What, sir?
Captain Miller: James, earn this... earn it.
Captain Hamill: You got to take Caen so you can take Saint Lo.
Captain Miller: You've got to take Saint Lo to take Valognes.
Captain Hamill: Valognes you got Cherbourg.
Captain Miller: Cherbourg you got Paris.
Captain Hamill: Paris you got Berlin.
Captain Miller: And then that big boat home.
[Miller purposely draws fire]
Sergeant Horvath: Captain, if your mother saw you do that, she'd be very upset.
Captain Miller: I thought *you* were my mother.
Private Reiben: What's the saying? "If God's on our side, who the hell could be on theirs?"
Upham: "If God is for us, who could be against us?"
Private Reiben: Yeah, what'd I say?
[Arguing about whether or not to attack the radio nest]
Private Reiben: I'm just saying, this seems like an unnecessary risk considering our objective, sir.
Captain Miller: Our objective is to win the war.
Captain Miller: I'll see you on the beach

I had a patient on Thursday who was 80years old and he came to get a cardiac exam and he told me how many funerals he goes to b/c he was a rifle commander. About 18 a month he says. If it wasnt for men like that who put their life on the line on D-Day then I wouldnt have my freedom today. Some people just do it and Id do it too. Thats why I do my part, so that I can provide that man with healthcare and Id die for that. So that people are free! Thats what Freedom means to me. Sorry you are guys wouldnt die for that.

People who wanna die to be free... go ahead, I ain't stopping.

There is nothing wrong with standing up for people or beliefs, but death is not glamorous. It doesn't matter what you're doing when you are killed, it is brutal and devastating. It's not your death that has meaning, it's the life you lived that has meaning. In the end, the people that knew you will celebrate your life, not death.

Its not a question of wanting to die, its a question of what would you die for. We say Freedom, Im just defending my position and saying your position cannot be defended. Its the difference between a European attitude and an American attitude. Europeans like the French and Germans and others criticize the US and Bush but they lack the backbone to stand for Freedom like Bush has against the axis of evil. Like Iraq, Iran and North Korea. Its what I was trying to explain what being a neocon is all about. Its about standing up for a moral foreign policy throughout the world. Thats why we went to war with Iraq, b/c its about freedom. Not to pick on you, just a good way to illustrate my point.

'The coward dies a thousand deaths, the brave but one,'" but they cannot remember who said it; regardless, Catherine thinks the brave "'dies perhaps two thousand deaths if he's intelligent. He simply doesn't mention them.'"

Analysis:

The quote Henry refers to is from Shakespeare's play "Julius Caesar," and reads correctly as "Cowards die many times before their deaths; / The valiant never taste of death but once" (II.ii.32-33). The quote exemplifies Henry's quiet bravery in the face of danger; unlike the blustery Ettore, Henry handles complications in his life with calmness and assurance, like Caesar. However, Henry does not know that Caesar spoke the quote, and thus he does not realize the implicit irony - Caesar is murdered soon after he makes this profound statement. For the reader who catches this allusion, disaster looms on the horizon for Henry and Catherine.

Still, they are a close-knit team, and her pregnancy only temporarily rattles Henry when he admits he feels somewhat trapped. In the developing theme of loyalty, Henry and Catherine pledge to remain loyal to each other, for, as Catherine points, it is the two of them versus the world.

We fight and die so that you may remain free. USA for USA. We'll find the dickless slobs hang them by the scrotum, lets end the terrorism. 9-11 was a wake up call. A call to arms. We were attacked, a bigger attack than Pearl Harbor. Thats why we went to war, why the war on terror. Does anyone not get it yet??

Tinytank was referring to William Wallace's memorable quote by Mel Gibson in the movie Braveheart. You belittled him by saying he watches too many movies. I say he watched just enough and perhaps you havent watched enough yet

I AM William Wallace! And I see a whole army of my country men, here, in defiance of tyranny. You've come to fight as free men, and free men you are. What will you do with that freedom? Will you fight?
Soldier: Against that? No, we'll run, and we'll live.
William Wallace: Aye, fight and you may die, run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take away our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM!

As long as their our people out there that want to destroy us, our country, everything America stands for then there will always be people that are evil and the war will continue. IS there any other way?? I dont know if you know this yet but these people. They arent going to go away no matter how much you want to stick your head in the sand. People like Osama Bin Laden are out there, they are real. Real as you or I, flesh and blood and they want to destroy the US, the western way of life, everything we hold near and dear. They want to kill you, they want to kill your mother, your father, your family, everything you hold near and dear b/c they think you and us are infidels. If you wouldnt be willing to die for that, the well, I guess youre just missing my fucking point altogether now arent you??? Its about FREEDOM, some of us are willing to die for that. Its better to live life on your feet than to die on your knees like the Europeans advocate. Thats what we are talking about. We have no choice but to fight, its a matter of understanding reality. A neocon is a liberal mugged by reality, thats what Im saying. Never mind, I doubt you'll ever get it.

Neither are suicide bombers, for they are told of an afterlife.

Is there an afterlife? I certainly hope so, but I don’t know for sure… and neither do you, nor do suicide bombers or those who fly planes into buildings.

Since there is no evidence of afterlife, I have no choice but to assume there is none.

And for that reason, I want to make the most of THIS life.

That would probably be true if Iraqies would be bombing the cities on US soil.

I ask the simple question... Why must people DIE for freedom?

Weapons of war are generally thought by the public to be guns, aircraft, bombs, gases, biological agents, troops, tanks and such material items. Yet, the most important weapon of war is the psychological, the propaganda and ideological campaigns waged both for and against the people on both sides of a conflict. These ideological campaigns must target and be waged at the most base emotions of the public. These campaigns must assert and prove that the war is sanctioned by and approved for the most altruistic of causes. In other words, the death of the enemy and the destruction of his power is my God's most important work on earth. To die in such a war is to insure the security of the world and the future of one's immortal soul. Place in war a people who believe those things with all their heart and you now have a willing death squad to place behind the guns, in the tanks, in the airplanes, in the factories and in the ships. That is the secret weapon of war - religions and their various gods.

Religion (and its attending doctrines) is not so much the cause of war as it is the excuse and emotional motivation for war. No war can be waged without the propaganda and ideological campaigns which stir the base emotions to a fever pitch either for defense or for offense. All the doctrines of all the religions says, "I am right and all others are wrong." "I am good and the others are evil." "My God is the true God. Your God is non existent, a false and evil god." "My government is God's government. Your government is the devil's government." Thus, with this weapon of religion, all wars are fought.

With this I present to you the true evil of mankind, the true devil of civilization, the true enemy of peace and prosperity of the world. The very worst concept in the whole world and in the whole history of this earth is religion. Religion is the most evil, the most destructive, the most tyrannical, the most disruptive, the most corruptive, the most seductive, the most injurious, the most ignorant, the most deceptive and the most useless concept ever conceived on this planet of our mother earth. Religion is a black hole devouring and eating the very heart and soul of mankind and his attempt to become civilized.

Even if there were a god, no good god could condone the use of such knowledge as that to destroy the civilizations, characters and lives of others. No good god could institute a religion which seduces the creativity of mankind and turns that creativity into killing and hating machines. No good god would command or condone genocide, murder, torture, starvation, cruelty, hatred, ignorance, deceptions, lies, theft of power, theft from the common treasury, destruction of nature's bounty, over population, cruel and unusual punishments, racism, elitism, censorship, prohibitions, manipulations of wealth, manipulation of history and facts, manipulation of knowledge and the manipulation of such an evil concept as religion. No good god would call GOOD evil and such EVIL as good.

If there were a devil the first thing I would expect him (her or it) to do would be to manufacture several different religions and claim that each one of them was the one and only divine and true religion and that all other religions must be destroyed or made subservient to the one and only true divine religion - yours.

(Thomas Blaylock)

OUT of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

OK, here's our point since you obviously dont get it.

If you wouldnt die for freedom then you are a coward.

Freedom isnt free, it came from people that werent cowards who sacrificed their lives on the alter of freedom so that you could have the right to disagree. Something that the people of Afghanistan and Iraq many other places in the world did or do not have. Thanks to the soldiers who've died already, they will in the future God willing. You hate God, you hate freedom if you wouldnt be willing to die for it. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem, thats your problem. If God be for us, who be against us? You and be people who hate freedom; the muslim leaders, the muslim religion that at its core says that if you dont believe in the message of the religion then you are an infidel and deserve death. The religion at its root preaches as an evil message, this is a struggle between good and evil. We are good, because we hold freedom as important and that is the message of God. Not all religion is bad, you are wrong, only the religion that says if you dont believe then you should be killed, that is the message of islam; the basis of islamic fundamentalism!~ the message of the government of Iran. I could go on and on explaining to you how the freaking world works but at some point you have to grow up and figure this shit out for yourself and stop being a coward saying you wouldnt be willing to sacrifice your life so that others may be free. So when you go out tonight and celebrate independence day, what everyone in this country is going out to do, look around and everyone having fun, little kids growing laughing mothers and fathers eating ice cream, barbecuing, just look around the fuck around and soak it up, look at this beautiful world that is around you, listen to God speak in the chatter of a brook next time you are out in nature and hear absolute silence, your freedom to be out there one with nature and hear God whisper to you in the wind and say their isnt God and when you are out there tonight watching the fireworks explode that veterans and forefathers laid down their lives for your freedom, may you feel the shock and vibration of the fireworks going off and the visuals in your eyes, the sound hitting every cell in your body as if a nuclear bomb went off and blasted you into infinity and just at that very instant that you hear the crack of the explosion of that firework, the very instant the visual goes through your visual cortex in your brain, the sensation of the smell of being around all over those people enjoying their freedom and their barbecues that they are cooking in the park, the moment you take in all of this with your senses at once. May you hear this CRACK (as if the universe was tearing apart, the universe stops expanding from the BIG BANG and starts the BIG CRUNCH and as infinity collapses upon itself back to the singularity from whence it came), may you finally understand this, that you are COWARD b/c you wont die for freedom. At that moment you realize that their is God and that you realize that he just smited you for not believing in him and saying God doesnt exist and the US is bad and the soldiers are bad or stupid for giving their lives up for freedom and the American way of life. The US is the shining city on the mountain, thats why people want to take us down, b/c of jealosy, if you dont understand this, then you need to figure it out or be smited by God, and trust me, it wont be pretty. Read my Heaven is coming to Earth thread to know the answer to all of this. Believe or be smited fools! That was your moment of Zen brought to you by Brothabill.

Just kidding, I hope you arent smited and the universe doesnt collapse on itself, but you never know who you might be talking to on the INTERNET and maybe just maybe you get it this time, I dont know how much clearer I have to be. Hitler didnt believe in God, neither did China and Mao Se Tung, religion doesnt exist and God is at the barrel of a gun and so on. Maybe some day you'll get it, thats what Im saying, that if you dont get it one day, one day you will. DO YOU FUCKING HEAR ME NOW?? I wouldnt hurt a fly though, why should you? Who am I? Why am I here? Who, what, where, when and why? Has just been answered, so its time to get a fucking clue?? ZING!! SNAP! CRACKLE! POP!! :lightning PWNED!!!!

Well I just want people to get the message this time, that there are no atheists in foxholes and when he or she is out there enjoying the fireworks tonight, may they realize that this may be the very last fireworks show that there is, that their heart may stop at any fucking moment and they may die just like I see happen to people in my profession of cardiac medicine and they could die at any moment, just as their might be a nuclear war started and it explodes at that very instant the fireworks go off right above them (that would be the biggest firework that they are ever going to see) just as I mentioned about them being smited, b/c they fucking are, TONIGHT! so when it finally dawns on them who I am, may they kiss their ass good-bye tonight and it will be in the fucking back of their mind, that question, who am I?? And what do I mean? Those of you who know me, know what I am saying? I am ZEN right and when that happens to them tonight like I said it is going to, then guess what the fuck that is, yup, you guessed it, its
Karma_title2.gif
Do you fucking hear me now??? Does anyone not understand me?? And what that means is that every time they see a firework for the rest of their lives until the very last one, I want them to remember me, this thread, from this day to the next, every time they see a baby smile or see someone laugh, or do anything that they enjoy doing, I want them to remember this, that they are a coward, I want it tattoo on their soul from this day forward, I called them that and when they are standing at the pearly gates and St Peter opens up that big book to judge them and their lives so that they may go into heaven, may they remember me as they stand there sweating feeling that sweat bead roll down their forehead waiting to see if they get in. May they sit there and wonder if it was God speaking to them tonight through me and they realize they are a coward and my answer to them on whether they are going to get into heaven, do you know what my answer to them will be???? NO WAY IN HELL!!!!!! GoodBye!!
ENJOY THE SHOW TONIGHT!!!!!

In the afterlife
You could be headed for the serious strife
Now you make the scene all day
But tomorrow there'll be Hell to pay
People listen attentively
I mean about future calamity
I used to think the idea was obsolete
Until I heard the old man stamping his feet.

This is a place where eternally
Fire is applied to the body
Teeth are extruded and bones are ground
Then baked into cakes which are passed around.

Beauty, talent, fame, money, refinement
Top skill and brain
But all the things you try to hide
Will be revealed on the other side.

Now the D and the A and the M
and the N and the A
And the T and the I-O-N
Lose your face, lose your name
Then get fitted for a suit of flame

LOL X INFINITY!!!!!!!

who would happily die for, like if u knew someone had to die, but you could save them by giving them your life ? DEEP QUESTION

For my sons who are active duty usaf and usn...with out a second thought..

Anyone I love. Life's a funny thing. Having grown up with a lot of death, I've never been scared of death. I've always had an almost creepy acceptance that life isn't a right or anything. I could have a tree fall through my house and kill me in 5 minutes.

So I try to make the best of the time I have but if my death could save others then so be it. And I'd want as much of my tissue donated as possible to help others too.

Thanks bro, I just wanted them to know what JUDGEMENT means, I was here and I just judged them and I found them unworthy, that was their moment to stand up and be counted and they failed the test. So tonight before the fireworks show, I want them to think of this thread and me and look up to God and I want them to say, what the fuck, I had better to do it, I want them to say Im sorry God, I want them to ask for forgiveness for being a sinner and I want them to picture me, smiling!! Because, just because!! That is the answer! And I want them to pray to GOD and say, am I dreaming?? "I hope to God that he was only joking!" But Im not!!!! I speak the words that you all needed to hear, finally, someone said it and I had a little help from my "friend". lol

Ever see Born on the 4th of July?
Cruise, fights for freedom, comes back all fucked up, nobody really cares after a week, parents get sick of his shit in a 3 weeks.
His budy from high school visits. The coward, who stayed home and started a burger chain, to become one of the richest people in town, has his own parade float, all the young hottie girls working for him.
Who made the right choice, with regards to the quality of their own life?

Dunno about you bro, but in that instance, I'd be the happy, rich, mad pussy getting, walking, coward...then the freedom fighter then risked it all, and pretty much lost it, for a 40 cent brass medal.

Yeah, you have that right, thats my point, people died for your right to be a coward and guess what! You are! Thats my point! You can take it any way you want, Im not the one saying it, dont blame the messenger, dont get mad at me. You just made the decision yourself. Its always your choice, always has been, thats what Im saying, thats what he is saying, get it? YET??

The eastern world, it is explodin’.
Violence flarin’, bullets loadin’
You’re old enough to kill, but not for votin’
You don’t believe in war, but what’s that gun you’re totin’
And even the Jordan River has bodies floatin’

But you tell me
Over and over and over again, my friend
Ah, you don’t believe
We’re on the eve
of destruction.

Don’t you understand what I’m tryin’ to say
Can’t you feel the fears I’m feelin’ today?
If the button is pushed, there’s no runnin’ away
There’ll be no one to save, with the world in a grave
Take a look around you boy
It’s bound to scare you boy

And you tell me
Over and over and over again, my friend
Ah, you don’t believe
We’re on the eve
of destruction.

Yeah, my blood’s so mad feels like coagulatin’
I’m sitting here just contemplatin’
I can’t twist the truth, it knows no regulation.
Handful of senators don’t pass legislation
And marches alone can’t bring integration
When human respect is disintegratin’
This whole crazy world is just too frustratin’

And you tell me
Over and over and over again, my friend
Ah, you don’t believe
We’re on the eve
of destruction.

Think of all the hate there is in Red China
Then take a look around to Selma, Alabama
You may leave here for 4 days in space
But when you return, it’s the same old place
The poundin’ of the drums, the pride and disgrace
You can bury your dead, but don’t leave a trace
Hate your next-door neighbor, but don’t forget to say grace
And… tell me over and over and over and over again, my friend
You don’t believe
We’re on the eve
Of destruction
Mm, no no, you don’t believe
We’re on the eve
of destruction.

Do you get what he is saying YET??

I also wouldn't say coward, more like selfish.
That example is my favorite. Makes being a coward, look pretty damn good.
Reasons for letting someone else do the fighting, are variable.
I'd never fight for this country, never fight for any country unless I had family in it. Freedom. LOL. They look pretty free in Canada...

What's the point of fighting for freedom, if you are gonna die and never enjoy it?

If I die in the name of freedom can anyone guarantee that I will be getting that freedom in the after life or that anyone who is left alive or will be born after I die will have freedom of the spirit?

Yeah, those guys who died for 'freedom'. Most were drafted, never finished school, low breeds- expendable in war or peacetime.
Freedom on the smile of children. They died and didn't have any.
Just cuz you choose not to fight, doesn't mean you are a coward, could mean you're smart or rich enough to have someone else do it.

Hey STOP SCREAMING! I only read part of what you wrote and didn't read the part about you guaranteeing anything. Even if you guarantee freedom I wouldn't die for anyone except my loved ones! Wars, enslavery and opression have been started by men and men should fight them and also end them.

I am a woman and I stay out of them! :verygood:

Would you die for freedom LB?

Yes it does mean your a coward, if you wouldnt die for freedom, that is the definition of being a coward, duh! lol, you wont die for freedom therefore you are a coward. You said it yourself, dont keep trying to change the subject, you said you'd be happy with that title so now you have it. Its tatooed to your soul and will it never leave you. Thats what I mean, you had the balls to say it which makes you a coward, lol, dont you love irony??? Enjoy the fireworks for the rest of your life and when you are standing at the pearly gates, I wanted you to remember me, I want you to remember me for the rest of your life, and every time you feel a bead of sweat roll down your forehead, I want you to remember that you are coward and when you are standing their waiting to be judged and you feel that bead of sweat, I want you to remember this and what God's answer will be on if you can get into heaven. The answer is Hell no! Thats all. You have just been Smited!

Yes, thats what Im saying, thats what Hotzie was saying and thats what people were saying was stupid or bad or whatever word they want to use, its the feeling, the sentiment, its like pornography, you know it when you see it, that famous supreme court statement. I would die for freedom, you would not, is that what you are saying??

That's not the definition of a coward. That's your definition.

Right and the people who sacrifice their lives werent that freaking selfish. They sacrificed their lives for the freedom of everyone. Now do you get it, you have just been smited as well.

^^^^This is the rational I'm going after, right here.
You know I have no one, no family or anything, so why would I care about the freedom of those who lived? I do not. I am very selfish.

Right, see how it goes in a circle. I am ZEN, I am whoever you want me to be? Who am I right now? Im whoever I want to be. I defined in this whole thread what being a coward was, read it, I said if you wouldnt die for freedom then you are a coward, I asked you do you understand and then you went ahead and took the title. Read the thread again and again until it sinks in. Dont live in denial, I dont see how much clearer I have to be in this. I think its pretty freaking clear. Can you handle the truth? Remember the movie A Few Good Men?? Well you arent one of them, got it?? Understand?? Kapeesh?? Sorry, like I told Perkele and Andy13 earlier. Sorry to be your mirror, Im just reflecting back to you what you are saying, thats all!! IT doesnt matter anyways right, so take your title, youve earned it. Everyone earns whats coming to them, thats what I meant by karma. You wont die for freedom, you said so yourself, now do we really have to go in the circle one more time till you finally get it??
