Who here has to do manual labor?

Don't that shit suck sometimes? Sometimes you feel like your gains are wasting
away while you use up all your body's recovery ability liftin' stuff. I am a welder and
we rotate between loading and welding and offloading. We weld exhausts for trucks.

my husband paints and does contracting stuff. he is always burnt out and hates the way it affects his training. thats why he just quit to work for himself and do less hours. i hear you though. its tough:)

Flex, I work construction, drywall one day, framing the next and so on ....

It seems to me that it's just the opposite.. I feel like it's a my cardio portion of my w/o...

It's better than sitting behind a desk......for me that is..... I hated my job when thats most of what I did.....

New job ....and now I'm just a grunt

:D my car has a manual transmission, does that count? (j/k)

Yeah, that's a good point about the cardio. And I don't whine anymore about
work being too hard. I just see all these guys that make great gains by having
less physically demanding jobs and then working out for a few hours a week.
As Dan Duchaine once said, look at the guys in prison. Some of the best natural
physiques in the world are there and they have no drugs and shit food. Maybe
Joe Weider will sign me pretty soon.....hee hee hee

Actually the boys in the big house have access to all kinds of gear. Talk to one of the bros when they get out - it's like a f'in candystore in there. Just don't do stiff legged deadlifts in the shower!

This thread hits home for me big time. I just left my job as a financial analyst for a consulting firm to take a new job doing financial analysis and sales, I started this past week. The problem I have is that I have to work in the production facility for 3 months to learn their processes and products, it is tough labor all day long. I just finished the third week of my cycle and have not gained any additional weight this week. I guess with all of that manual labor and sweating it's cool that I haven't lost any, I'll just have to make sure to get all of the cals in. It just pisses me off that I would have been up another 3-5 pounds this week if I was still going to work in a suit every day.

I am comfortable in saying that i probably have the toughest job out there....Order selecting for a major grocery store chain ....each order I select is timed down to the hundreth of a minute(as to how fast they want it done) no slacking off...at the bottom of each order is the weight of the order ....example yesterday I had a juice order that weighed 4850 LBS and I had 38.47 minutes to pick it! and followed that up with a 4900 LBS bakery order! 32.4 minutes....by the end of the day I lift 30000-60000 LBS and walk 8-10 miles! The average person losses 10 pounds their firsy month there.......the only way for me to keep big (252LBS) is to eat eat eat ...every break and lunch. my feet usually hurt by the end of the day and then I have to go to the gym.....I am too damn dedicated!:fro:
