the funny thing is, a LARGE majority of need-based scholarships is given to minorities. most minority-only scholarships, for the most part, are wholly unnecessary for providing academic opportunities to the under-privileged. it is a fact that minorities are on average poorer than whites. for this reason, giving need-based scholarships/financial aid naturally covers minorities. but purely race determined scholarships only reinforce the social division between whites and minorities. i personally can think of quite a few examples of very well-to-do minority students receiving minority scholarships, which does nothing to provide opportunities to the people who really need it. a school giving out money based soley on the color of students' skin is absurd and ineffective.

on the other hand, race based scholarships given by a private race-related organization are fine. they serve the purpose of uniting an ethnicity and spreading a pride of one's roots. private organizations have the right to use their money as they please.

Nice twist, but clarify a few things for me:

Do you equate the idea of only sight impaired people going to a School for the Blind, with a Publicly funded after school program that doesn't allow black kids to enter because they are black?

Do you think that battered women's shelters fall into the same jurisdiction as exclusionist religious based clubs that receive public funds?

Explain why you list 'rape crisis' centers? Did you know that rape crisis centers are on call for men as well? They also assist the whole family when a rape has occured?

For what possible reason did you lump Boys/Girls Clubs of America into that list (they are part of the same organization, by the way)? That they exclude people based on age? The Boy/Girl scouts fall under a combined governing body as well. How do they exclude anyone?

I think sometimes you post things like that quoted above just to be argumentative. Could you maybe answer my questions above, I would like to know why you listed the oragizations you chose.

I will say it again: you can have any kind of closed club/organization you like, just not with my money.

The point is clear: there are many federally-funded organizations that have exclusionary memberships. Your stance is that you personally must approve of it's function before it should receive tax money, and that is not going to happen.

The only solution is to eliminate all forms of affirmative action. In schools, governmental organizations, public and private business.... everywhere.

Affirmative action has profound effects on individuals' thinking that goes way beyond the obvious. Because of Affrimative Action, I question the abilities of EVERY black man and woman that I come in contact with that is in position of authority. I ask myself......... is this person ~really~ the most qualified? From cops to bank tellers to the woman behind the counter at the DMV.

This is the true legacy of Affirmative Action. And for those minority folks who TRULY work hard, are intelligent, responsible and have EARNED their position are the real losers. Their efforts are not recognized nor rewarded.

Then the next question is........ When WILL Affrimative Action end? European-decendant Americans will be less than 50% of the population in the US within a few decades. Will the then colored majority vote to recind the privilages and benefits the former white majority gave to them? I highly doubt it. Most likely they will begin to excellerate the stripping of financial assets of the white folks. One only needs to look at Zimbabwe to get a glimps of the future of America when the european-decendant americans loose control of the country. South Africa is next and as soon as Mandela dies there will be an ethnic cleaning of the whites there.

If you want an example closer to home, one only needs to look at Detroit.

Long term health and viability of the USA, as we know it today, is in serious jeapordy.

Read again, my statements were perfectly clear: In America you SHOULD be allowed to have whatever racist stupid club you want, and have whatever close-minded idiotic policies regarding membership you want. I 100% percent agree with your right to have that and govern it as you please. I have actively fought for your right to do so my entire life. It is imperative that that right be maintained and it applies to every situation that does not violate the law (hate groups or groups that incite violence are excluded based upon such laws). This kind of freedom is one of the cornerstones of what makes America great.

They were ALL wrong and you need to come up with some real examples of what you are talking about to at least have the APPEARANCE that your argument that has any merit. I challenged you to explain the choices you made, so please do so. Are you unable to do that? Or just embarrassed when your choices are shown to have no relevance to the topic?

Ummm no it's not because of Affirmative Action you question them it's because your a racist who don't like blacks as a race to begin with so spare us with the BS.
