I realize that I can not live here in this small town and make the kind of money that I want to make, but things are just so perfect here sometimes. I walked outside tonight and looked up at the moon and the stars and all around me. I could see 4 houses and a Church in sight...and at 11pm there was not a single light on anywhere.

I can sit out on my back porch in the summer and listen to Bob Segar on the radio and sit in the hot tub in the Winter when the snow is all around me. I can take long drives out to the middle of nowhere. On the way home...I'll never even see another car. I get to stop and watch the deer cross the road.

It is so beautiful here.

I live in a similar place. I was born here. My father was born here as was my GF, GGF. I left about 20 years ago and never intended to come back. Fate drew me back. I am now raising my family here. I have a great job and, for the most part really enjoy living here. Sometimes the small town gossip and politics get on my nerves. A little anonimity would be nice (I am an elected official).

My compromise is temporary escapes to a cabin north of Gunnison CO and my father's beach house in Galveston TX. Hopefully someday, I will get that 50' sailboat i always dream about.

I think I am where I want to be.
