Whats the chance of infection?

I hope I didn't mess up here. Normally I'm EXTREMELY carefull about sterilization and setting everything up before injecting. I was in a hurry today and skipped a step. I had already sterilized my glute and was in a rush and forgot to sterilize the vial before putting in the draw pin. I used a different pin to inject but I'm curious whats the likely hood I'll get an infection for not sterilizing the vial? I guess I shouldn't let myself get in a rush on inject days. Hopefully nothing bad will happen but anyone else dine this before?

i have done all kinds of stupid sh*t and not gotten an infection before... but that doesn't mean you're not at risk...

you'll probably be okay, but think of the stress you'd save yourself if you'd just taken your time.

keep an eye on the site where you pinned yourself, and be aware of how you're feeling... if you start feeling sick (fever, body aches, etc) you might want to think about scheduling an appt. with your doctor

while you're at it, you should google "glute abscess" and take a look at some of the images... i bet that'll be the last time you skip a step

+1. I never wipe of the lid but I never inject using the needle I withdraw with either.

You would have to be hell of unlucky even if you did use the same pin. Not ideal, but my money is on you could do that 100 more times and it would not happen. When I was younger I used to never change pins from drawing to injecting,and never had any problems.

I usualy never wipe the tops even if its stuff like gh where i use the same needle to inject. never had a problem

wow. im suprised at the comnents about not cleaning the stopper. i always thought that was a 100% must do.

I never do that.. but I always switch needles constantly. any mistake and I switch needles, I always want the needle as sharp as possible.
