What's a bigger deal 300 or 315 bench?

What is a bigger milestone on the bench press?

i am almost at 30 reps ( i am only 22 years old tho).

SKKRONNGG!!!!

Good work. Those are NFL type numbers.

Babbon, you misunderstood me alittle. I also was not real clear. I meant when you max out (like 1 rep max) at only 15lbs or so over your weight with horrible form and still think your a bad ass. Thats what I was talking about. Doing 12reps even with bad form with that weight is unreal but with the correct form thats real impressive.

I also knew a guy in Warsaw, IN that was just gifter with incredible strength. He never hit the gym so he didn't even know what he could do in anything. He used to get in a bunch of fights defending his drunk wife (divorced now) and would pick people up and throw them like toys. He also scared the cops one time when he called them to his house for a guy shooting his porch light out with a 22cal. so they put him in hand cuffs. His drunk wife (as usual) ran up to the cop and he kind of pushed her back and she fell. He just flinched his arms and snaped the cuffs in half. The cops actually locked them selfs in there car until there back up arrived. Long story but thougth is was interesting.

No harm.

My point is simply.

HEAVY=HEAVY ... No matter who is under it.

Thanks Bro.

I have seen Recruit do 30 reps at the end of his workout. The guy is a monster. Just genetically gifted.
Thanks for the props babboon. Couldn't have done it without you pushing me. Never had a workout partner make me work that hard...

I voted 315, you will appear to be stronger to the average joe, but in the end your milestone is your personal best. Set a goal and pound away until you hit it, even if it is just 5 pounds more a week, a month, whatever.

BTW, I am benching 275 for 8 clean reps, but when I try to max out I can only get 305,I know I should be able to push more weight but I just have a mental block when it comes to 3 plates.

Update: 300 pounds!

Today I have reached the first of a series of milestones.

Next will be 305 where I will achieve the 100+ pounds above bodyweight.
Then...315!

Put up 300 at 195 bodyweight...feel pretty good about it. Certainly put a confused look on the face of the bigger guys in the gym. Squat 405 for a single no problem too. I would say 300 is the bigger deal...especially since I train just to look better. If I packed on 50 more pounds of muscle and fat I'm sure I could throw up crazy weight, but I would look like a fat powerlifter.
