Whatcha squat?

I was pretty happy, new PR last night, 250lbs. That's right people, 2-5-0! Now I know what you're thinking, how is it possible? 250lbs is so much weight. I assure you, that due to my massive huge-inisity, I was able to accomplish this unbelievable feat. I think I might have superqt beat now.. :)

How much do you guys do? (Feel free to lower it a bit if its' going to make me look really weak.)
 
425's my comp record...and it's the ugliest squat you've ever seen.

That's why I've taken the weight back down, and I'm trying to get more flexible.

i'm proud to say that as of yesterday after 4 years and two months of training, i'm now doing my working sets of balls to the wall squats(ATF, niggra) while holding the 45lb db in between my legs. just to give you some sort of frame of reference, i could barely even hold a 45lb db when i started let alone hold that bitch in between my legs and squat like a man.

I relize this is about actual squats and not a squat. But when I first read this I thought it was a dookie thread.

275 FOR REPS , but my left knee is starting to bug me. I hate that shit, I followed it up with 15 paltes on leg press which aint all that much but still bugs my fuckin left knee. Im trying to figure that out now.
 
did 330 for reps easily today. might not seem much to some of you but coming back from f'ed up surgery so it's all good.

Nothing shabby about that. Remember, you're only ever really competing against yourself.
 
410 for a double, 405 comp raw w/belt @180 lbs...with wraps and a suit, I'm confident I'll break 500 at the end of summer...not awesome, but respectable...
 
I did legs yesterday, went up to 270 for 10. Thats only half squats (thighs paralell) though. I work out at home, and I get nervous doing heavy squats without a spoter.
Last month I bailed on my last set second rep, it was scarey.

Yeah, if I had the room. It would be worth it for the piece of mind. I'm set up in my bedroom, it's pretty tight in there.
So who here goes ass to grass, and who goes half squats?
 
i go a bit passed parellel and i need to start being a real person and increase the weight...plus my lifting partner never seems to be here on leg day and im afraid to squat without a belt and spotter so i use taht bullshit thing on the tracks and go passed parellel on that...

for my real squats i go to parelllel and i do like 205 or 225 on my final set depending on how i feel

I do pl style, wide as fuck, a few inches below parrallel...when I do oly style (narrow stance, high bar, ass to floor) my poundages get a lot less...

i have never used a belt and i never plan to. i dont care about the weight. i dont try to put on 30lbs more than i can actually handle then put on a belt. i do what i can do without one and work with that.
 
i dont need the belt i just like it for security...

maybe ill start without it but start lower and work my way up..
 
I did 445 for 3 last week. Going for 455 for 3 this week. I go all the way down and I'm assuming that's the type of squat you mean. I'm working on getting it up so I'm hoping to be up to working with big numbers one day. I figure by my mid twenties I can be squatting around 600 or so hopefully if my knees hold. I like the sound of that a bit more.
 
i was reading an article in flex and supposedly alot of pro;s wear a belt during squatting because it takes the obliques out of the movement, i guess because they are squeezed..i dont know.

I've done a half squat on my 50th b-day of 650 weighing in at 179 lbs.
my 52th b-day last Dec2003 i messed my knee doing a PB on my b-day of 550.

Competed against him in Boston, no TV though.

Competed against him in St. Louis...should be on FOX this Summer. I should know before it airs.
