What to weat with a gray herringbone blazer

I bought a nice herringbone (at least I think that is the technical name) and I want to wear casually on weekends or as a jacket/to work. My question is what colors pants/shirts would be appropriate. Most of my friends say black pants but I feel like it’s too dark - I ll try and find a similar pic on the net.
