What lengths do you go to to save on gas? (if any?)

How much do you guys spend a month on gas?
we have 2 cars (one 4-cyl Camry, one 6-cyl Camry) and each car requires a fillup about twice per month @ roughly $50 +/- per fillup.
so for both cars, about $200 a month

the 4-cyl gets about 24-25 mpg and the 6-cyl typically gets about 22-23 mpg.

when i lived in Illinois, got better mpg due to flatter, straighter roads

i know you can, im not sayin that.

my point is, it hardly seems practical to, in the name of saving on gas, to spend that much money on a cycle. at what point does spending all that $ on a motorcycle become financially efficient?

You make a good point, but dirty hippy chicks like harleys.

it costs like an extra $20 to fill up these days over a couple years ago, big fucking deal

turning off the engine at red lights? jesus christ that is asinine

just use cruise control more and keep rpms under 2000 or so if you can and you're solid

yeah its become like a game for him and he's becoming kinda obsessive about it
i get annoyed when he turns off the engine at red lights. i roll my eyes and such

i just use cruise control and try to stick to 55-60 mph on the highway thats about it.

if i couldnt afford what I spend on gas, then id probably be more concerned.

lumberg is very frugal (aka cheap)

I drive a diesel truck so I get about 22-25 MPG
I dive slow as shit but I log about 40K a year so it still aint cheap

luckily its a write off..

perhaps your new possible job comes with a huge pay raise that allows for red light idle? LOL
