you dont need a qualification to get certified.you just need to pay for it.pass the test.and youre certified.

WHAT? People still get certified? I thought most gyms just took the kids out from behind the juice bar and made them "Trainers"

And then the people paying big money to the gym for a trainer get ZERO results, they cancel their memberships, and the gym industry gets a bad rap....

American College of Sports Medicine is one of respected qualifications.

I think that the American Powerlifting federation also does a very good course.

Good stuff. I like a lot of the points the article makes; checking the education/qualification/certification of the trainer is a big one. One of my best friends is an amazing trainer, but she's spent her whole life honing her craft. I don't know where I'd be without her.

That's great - when you get that client/trainer relationship where both parties benefit, that's the ideal situation.

Yeah, she's become like my sister over the years. I never would have thought I needed a PT back in theday much les a FEMALE trainer. Goes to show how ignorant I was....

The one issue I have is that she's a figure competitor and if I hear "Dude, she's so HOT, can you hook me up??" one more time then I'm going to go off....
