What is so special about blue moon?

I have been hearing from everyone about how great this beer/ale is, so last night I figured I would try it. It tasted like flavored water, not bad but almost no taste. Can someone who has tried and liked it tell me what is so good about it?

I'll stick with some of the local dark beers/ales for now on.

I think Blue Moon is a decent mid-quality beer...I'm not a fan of fruity beers, more of a heinken/grolsch consumer...

I had it the other week, granted I was already pretty well off, but it was quite good, its a wheat beer so you can't expect the same 'thick' taste as other ales etc. Do you like any other wheat beers? They all seem pretty thin as you put it compared to ale but they have a place. Germans drink them in the morning to cure hangovers because of the vitamin B from the wheat. I'll try blue moon again sober but it tasted better then pyramid hefeweizen which is on of the best wheat beers I can get locally. Not an expert by any means hope that helped.

Good shit, IMO. It's a Belgian-style witbier. Supposed to be like Hoegaarden, et al.

If you're used to darker beers, than, yes, I can see why the taste would not be much to you. :)
