What if you were to inject into a vein?

What would happen if you did inject into the bloodstream? The reason why I ask is this morning I was giving myself my shot, I did the normal asperate (I dont know how to spell it)and got bubbles so I went aheaad with my shot. I was a little shaky, but at the end, since I was concerned, I did the asperate again, and got a little blood. Was wondering if I moved it and hit a vein or something.

could have but as long as your not shooting it in a vein like heroin your fine. you could have hit the vein on the way out or the blood didnt reach the tip of the needle when you aspirated. no biggy. i did a shot one time and pulled out the needle and blood shot clear across the bathroom. i had to get new bathroom rugs. but dont worry like i said as long as your not shooting it in like it was heroin then your fine.

You don't aspirate when you're done bro. If you did inject into a vein you'd get lightheaded for a while and that's about it. You cut through veins, that then bleed, every time you inject. That was the blood you saw. If you were in a vein and aspirated the whole syringe would fill with blood from the blood pressure in your vein. Like when they take your blood for a blood test. Calm down, you're fine.

Why even aspirate then? As long as you are injecting into a solid piece of muscle (glut, quad, etc.) it shouldn't matter too much. I know with me, when I shoot into my glute if I try to aspirate my uncoordinated ass bends the pin when I do it (one hand stick). I get the feeling this is one of those "bike helmet" kinda deals. Yeah sure it's better to wear the helmet but it's a pain in the ass and not many people really do it. Ideas?

If you got a vein, you'd probably have a LOT of blood. Being a little shaky, however, is enough to cause a little bleeding, from the pin slashing around in your muscle tissue while you're shaking. I always bear down real hard on the plunger for a few seconds at the end to make sure I get it all (good to the last drop!!) and as I'm removing the needle, I let-up on the plunger. On a number of occassions the suction from the release draws a few drops of blood into the syringe.

Nothing to be concerned about.

I've always wondered about hitting a vein myself. I just assumed that it would most likely result in wasted gear, since it's supposed to be injected intramuscular.

Nothing to worry about and it's hard enough or someone trained to hit a vein, not to mention someone who is not trained. It would be very diffcult to inject directly into a vein at the angle you have to shoot to hit a muscle.
