Looks like when I graduate I might hit one of those 18-24 month rotation jobs at a company like Cigna, Citicorp, United Technologies, etc. then go back for my masters and try my hand at the investment banking/corporate finance world.

You majoring in Real Estate?
Commercial or Residential?
Hmm.

I'm in NY and have a Broker's Lic. that I haven't put to good use in a few years - other than trying to keep up with the Continuing Ed. credits. I didn't have to go to college for it though. I took the salesmen's course and state test- worked for two years sold like a madwoman, took the Broker's course and state test and well it's all history now. (CRAP that reminds me I have till Oct to get 2o or so credit - UGH!)

I went back to my orginal field of Interior Design (please don't call me a decorator... ) and enjoy it even though the clients will on occassion drive me insane. One day, in a semi-ideal world I will will merge the two fields into one business - separate yet side by side.

velvett- It's technically a finance major w/ concentration in RE, I would go commercial if I decided to be an agent/broker one day. I always told myself I would rather work for myself (ie RE sales or brokerage) than work for a corporation but lately I'm getting lured by higher profile corporate finance jobs in NYC. Of course, the firm I'm working for this summer has an office in NYC and they specialize I believe in large scale office leases. They are Colliers ABR, and a couple of their agents pulled in million dollar commissions a year ago with one deal.

You live in the city? When you worked in RE was it in the city or in surrounding counties? I'm curious how you found the work, people, and setting.
