What Do You All Do To Fight Cardio Boredom?

JUICESEEKER

New member
I was at the gym this morning and i was doing my morning jog at the treadmill and i realize that enduranec is not my problem but boredom. What do you guys do to fight boredom during cardio?

Amen to that. The rocky 4 soundtrack is the best soundtrack EVER. Bar none. That soundtrack has helped me through many a workout.-WULF

I can't stand cardio.

Hence, I run OUT for a max of about 15 minutes... then walk home. This equals about 45 minutes of being on the treadmill 'cuz it takes my 1/2 an hour to walk back... 45 minute total time.

I can walk dogs easily... find it very fun... and I can ride a bike easily IF I'M GOING SOMEWHERE.

I just can't do cardio for its own sake. It is too boring.

Fortunately, I love boxing and kickboxing. I get in great boxing workouts 4-5 nights a week.

conan the barbarian soundtrack.

or do what i do. get a mp3 player like rio, use kazaa lite to dl new songs every day and then just upload to it. It's like my very own radio station every morning. Lotsa people at the gym are using them now.

-= nav =-

Thats exactly what I do. I change my songs every week. Its awesome

look in the mirror before and say "damn im fat" and then keep thinking that while u do your cardio. yes the rocky 4 soundtrack is the shit:D no easy way out is one of the better ones

Sofa's got it right. If you want moderate activity,(which is all cardio is) DO SOMETHING. Sprints followed by a walk is a great example. No need to go to the gym for that.

Jogging on a treadmill is a colossal waste of time.

Do you spar? Or just hit the heavybag and speedbag?

Me and a bud at my gym get a fantastic workout throwing a 25lb medicine ball for 20 - 30 min,and what an ab workout it is also! WHEW!

You've got to spar... preferably with good opponents.

Earnest Hemingway... until his 60s... made his daily workout of doing 3 rounds a day.

A heavy bag is good... but it doesn't move like a human jaw.

I just play basketball if I wanna do cardio. Sometimes I like running on the treadmill as it clears my mind, so I do it. I never really do forced cardio.

One reason i've NEVER missed a single workout since I started lifting is cause I love it so much. That's how things should be, you gotta love it to do it. :)

BTW, I really haven't missed a single workout. I had a set workout I did from day 1 (I used max-ot training from ast sports science) and slowly tried other workouts too. I've taken a week break here and there for recooperation purposes, but never missed a planned workout. :)

Reading is very good. Also, think about all the ass you will get by being shredded in the summer time, that usually gets me going.

Quit the low-medium intensity cardio that takes 30-40 minutes and try the high intensity shit that takes 10-20 minutes. You can't get bored when you're busting your ass down the track at full speed. HIIT, look into it.

Im a lucky bastard....
In the gym where i train, they have a couple of tv's in front of all the cardio-equipment.. On one of the tv's they're showing some of the latest movies..

So in the summer, there arent much video's i havent seen..:D

Rocky4 soundtrack while thinking about getting ass is a great way for me. I also think about the ex-girlfriends that I've had and all the other people that might have written me off in the past, that gets me wanting to get shredded just to show them all up.

I NEVER do cardio. That being said I do things 4-5 times a weak that could be seen as cardio but they are way,way more fun and they provide great secondary benefits.
example:
Tuesday: sled dragging-ankle, bkwd ankle, heavy sprints-puke- total time about 30 min 3 to 1 rest to work

Wednesday: Sprint progressions 10yrd 20yrd 40yrd, balance and hoop work. total time 45 min with a 5 min water break between sprints and agility

Thursday : Agility and Plyometrics total workout with dynamic warmup about 30 min

Sat: Strap on the harness and pull my truck in the grass w/ cleats about 5 sets of 40 yards-puke- do sprint starts w/ the harness and the sled w/ 150 lbs-total time about 1 hr.

That work combined with my westside training split keeps me growing at the same bf around 14% and I eat 7-9000 cals a day.

At the Golds i work out, they have a line of tvs (news, sports, videos). i usually do the elliptical listening to my mp3 player. Also check out the hot girls t/a that are next to me, in front of me, doing aerobics, etc. Eyes are roaming while i'm doing cardio

I too load the Mp3 player with a new mix everyday. It really does rock. I just got a new memory chip for it so I can hold about 150 songs. Pretty sweet. Also, the cardio section at my gym is where like 90% of all the hot women are, so I really dont mind being there and it gives me plenty to think about while I am rocking out to my Mp3 Player. There are TVs there, but I would rather listen to tunes.

I used to jump rope for 10minutes all out in the morning while watching porn. It made all the difference. Nowadays I have no VCR so I also skip the aerobics.:)

Get on the ellipticals behind all the hot ass high school girls on the treadmills. I can easily do 2 hours of cardio that way. :p

The problem with high intensity cardio is that it burns glucose not much fat. Low intensity cardio burns mostly fat.

That's debatable, their is many that swear by low-intensity cardio, I am among the ones that prefer HIIT instead! But then again it leads down to what works out best for you! :)

BINGO!!!

Gotta love to do it to keep yourself doing it consistently and to make it a lifestyle... reading and watching TV will help pass the time, but you can't get bored if you find something you actually look forward to doing...

I've been doing 45 minutes (just bumped it up to 60 minutes a few days ago) on the treadmill (4.0mph 3 degree incline) every morning for the last 24 days. Yes, it's boring as hell. I just stair out the window and day dream till the 60 minutes is over.

Damn, that sounds crucial........a whole hour. How are the results coming along? Are you on any supplements?:)

Results are comming along great! I'm not taking any gear right now at all. I'm on SwoleCat's program (swolegenix), dropped about 13lbs so far in 24 days, and almost every one of my lifts is up (deads up 25lbs, squats up 25lbs, incline up 15lbs)

Try sprints. Run 12-16 40 yard sprints, with 45 seconds between each one. Not boring.

Make sure a hot chic with a tight-ass is on the treadmill in front of me... it helps pass the time!! :blow:

... and lots of music!!
