The original has a lot of replay value and it takes quite a wile to finish. It's one of my favorite strategy games of all time it has a hell of a learning curve too. It took several campaigns before I had a grasp on the subtleties of the campaign game. Searching the forum and reading the Q&A plus guides is my recommendation.
