WHAT are you and WHY?

hellboy said:
None of the above. I am a weight lifter.

I'm not interested in weights as a means of competition - except for maybe competing against myself.

But I do like getting bigger and stronger.
I was going to say exactly that. I have competed in bodybuilding shows and I will again. But that's not the reason that I do what I do.

an aspiring bodybuilder
i luv the challenge of balancing out the entire physique
planning out meals
the only one who can affect my performance is me
and if i stick with it.....

one day i will achieve my goals, and it will be well worth it

Strength athlete/bodybuilder

I want to compete in a year, but sports especially rugby mean the world to me.

so size but functional size

I would say a strenght athlete... though I have not been invoved much in athletics for a while, though that is where my roots are... would like to ideally get back to training for some type of athletic endeavor...

Powerlifting sounds like a blast, and I always liked lifting as much as possible, though I would have a LOT to learn/experience before I would feel comfortable putting myself in the same league (or even neighborhood) as some of our accomplished bros (and bro'ettes) that call themselves by that name... It does require it's own unique set of athletic strenghts and technical competecies...

I guess I would say I am in transition- working on some strength goals until I for certain determine what my next athletic pursuit is...

I'm trying to figure that out myself! I've had people ask me in the gym, "What are you training for?" I just don't know what to tell them!

I've been consistently training for the since the summer of 2002 and have learned soooooo much since then. I've played competitive softball practically my whole life, so I'd definitely fall into the "athlete" catagory. But as far as lifting goes, I'm still exploring many aspects...but not BB'ing. I love the fitness girls physiques but I get much pleasure from outlifting the skinny boys at the gym too! :D

The strongmen stuff looks like a lot of fun...can't wait until Nate's farmer walk implements are done--then we gotta get a tire! We've been dragging the sled lately, which is a great workout...much better than the usual cardio!

For now, I'll keep trying new things and adding them to my arsenal.
