what are first timers being told these days?

first cycle should always include test at

same here, actually cut cycle short 3 1/2 weeks early because of it.

just curious, were the gains too obvious (to others) or were you physically uncomfortable putting on too much too quick?
 
I'm not sure what first timers are being told but I can tell you the WORST things they're being told. Recommending over 500 mgs, the fallacy that anything under 10 weeks is a waste and that testosterone is best for a first cycle. All bad advice.

Seriously, I think an ideal first cycle is something like 500 mgs of Primo for a month. I know...that's a girlie girl cycle but it'll give you a taste of how the stuff works and since it's your first you're more likely to make the most of it with hard training and protein consumption. I found that the more cycles someone does the more the training and diet can get lax.

i can defiantly agree with primo on first, but for one month? it usually takes my favorite compound 4-6 weeks to start kicking...

please expound further...

maybe:

1-8 primo 300/500 ew

prefer:

1-12 primo 300/500 ew

I just think it's too long. You can see results sooner. Plus, sides are more prevelant after 6 weeks. Recovery is harder.

I also think that psycologically it isn't a good idea for someone to get used to being on for so long. You never know how you're going to react. They can always do another cycle a few months down the road. And it's a long road indeed.

Slow and steady gains are the most solid. Guys who gain 20 pounds the first time out tend to lose it and then spend the next 10 cycles trying to get it back. Then they quit. I see it all the time.

I'm getting read to start and was told anywhere inbetween 250-500. I'm running Sust 325 .5cc E3D right inbetween that. The most I'll run in one week will be 488 and that will only happen 2-3 x in a 10 weeker. Discipline is the key with diet, training and rest.

Worst case scenario, I can always turn it into a 8-9 weeker.

it was obvious that i packed on weight but i dressed in over sized clothes to hide it. but the main problem was it was definatley uncomfortable packing on all the weight so quick.
