Western Union HELP

Big Skrizz

New member
Ok, I've gone into 2 seperate WUs and I've had a really hard time at both of them. I've been given this whole lecture on us being at war and how dangerous it is to send money. I fill out the form and the clerk tells me that he needs two forms of ID from me and two forms of ID on the receiving end. I filled out the security question and he said that's not good enough for the other person to pick up money. Sending to another country is a real pain in the balls. The individual picking up the $ at WU is not going to be using ID but I am. I don't want to end up losing the money and have to go through a big process of trying to get it back. So, has anyone had these problems before and what suggestions does anyone have?

lol, wtf? you should have asked if they require a DNA test too - you must live in AZ. My advise: go to another WU location, at least 2 hours away. Something is not right bro.

anything under $3,000 is no hassle at all (i think that was the cut off) no id to send. over that amount, Fed law requires ID. its not WU's fauilt.

read over what he said - 2 forms of ID on both ends, sounds fishy as hell to me.

I have sent western union and they wanted ID for anything over 1000 dollars. You can still go to a wall-mart and do a moneygram. They will still ask for ID but, the person recieving the money only has to show ID if you request it.

yup, but fishy depends on whether its over the cutoff.

the other thing I remeber with WU is that they require ID (dont remember if it was 2 forms) for ANY amount transferred to china. Dont know if that was Fed Law, or just their policy. Couldnt get a straight answer, but 3 different WU offices all wanted ID for China, but not for other countries.

Never have sent more then 1,000 at a time at one location tho.. I have sent to China many times never asked a question ...Hmmm I would bounce and look for a new location for sure..

Neither WU nor the FEDs require 2 forms of ID to send cash, 1 form of ID is plenty. There is something fishy about this WU exprerience, I have an idea what but rather not say in the open.
