Actually, an invasion may improve thier infrastructure.

They have no infrastructure. Factories in N. Korea routinely shut down due to a lack of power. Then the employees rip them up and sell the scrap metal to China to buy rice. It would take hundreds of billions just to get their economy started. They are one of the poorest nations on earth.

I don't think they do. My understanding is that S. Korea wants the N. Korean regime to remain in place. if the N. Korean regime falls then Korea becomes unified and it will destroy S. Korea's economy. Imagine the US becoming unified with Sub Saharan Africa into one big nation. The population would go up and then the economy would totally change, much of the economy would go to lifting Africa out of poverty. Plus the psychological damage North Koreans suffer from will take generations to fix and S. Korea doesn't want to deal with it.

What the S. Korean gov. wants is for N. Korea to enter the international community and start building its economy. They don't want war.

south korea could re-unify with north korea easier than germany. those people are smart,industrious and gifted
