Volt goes 1,000 miles between fill-ups, says GM

The new Chevrolet Volt, gets 111 miles per gallon and I hope its not long before other car manufacturers follow suit. I know electric cars are the wave of the future , so I hope they will eventually design one that is like a gas powered car in as far as acceleration, and less time between charges. I for one, would love to tell The United Emirates and OPEC to go to H(*). Discuss.

It seems they could make an internal charging system that would operate when the vehicle operates. Air induction mini turbine or using the rotation of the wheels or pulleys somehow to internally charge itself. I dunno
