Vick pleads guilty

I think he should go to prison before he does it to a kid or person

its more like removing from society , than trying to punish a crime

what a sick bastard!

I'm sure he has a Morality Clause in his contract which is what the Falcons will use against him.

Hunters, be they after meat or trophy have rules they must follow to make it as humane as possible to the animal being killed vs torturing them to death.

Rabbits are hunted with a .22 caliber rifle frequently.

Large bears can take shots from a high powered rifle and still live.

people go to jail for poaching, not because its inhumane, but because it increases the risk of the population of the animal being poached dropping to dangerous levels.

Again, I'm not arguing that what Vick did should be legal, I'm arguing that it is not deserving of prison time.

Shooting a rabbit with a .22 is like shooting a person with a round from an airplane. Pretty quick.

And what about the tax evasion for the money earned on the fights? I'm sure that would have been part of the big picture charges wise, so just look at it that way. What he did was criminal on a number of levels.

not if you hit that rabit in the hind leg.

I find hunting to be inhumane. I think that anyone who enjoys it has an underlying psychological issue. Why do you think Cheney is a fan of shooting defenseless quail!

I don't think anyone should go to prison for it though, no matter how much pleasure they derive from it.

Also, just as a side point, bow hunting is quite popular and there are many non lethal injuries to animals as a result.

PS
I was a butcher for years when I was younger.
You all should be vegans if you feel hunting is torture and realize
the assembly line large scale animal torture that goes on in slaughter houses.

i agree 100%. I've read detailed accounts of a "day in the life" of a slaughterhouse worker, and there is a LOT of animals feeling a lot of pain, constantly.

We as humans are at the top of the food chain when in our environment.
We should be OK with killing animals if it is indeed to get food.
Regardless of how.
Different people feel the need for or not re: the humane death of the animal

Killing "animals" for sport, capital gain or pleasure is what I personally have issues with regardless of what kind of animal it is.

As opposed to community service? A large fine? Hunting is nowhere near inhumane unless you are baiting to lure animals.

This is pretty graphic....but these are the lucky one B....they are starved...beaten...left tied to poles...and then forced to fight. Bears, Moose, Deer...they rarely see it coming.
